From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Eddie Jones and England are one game away from finishing 2016 with a 100 per cent winning record, with Australia the only side standing between them and perfection.

The war of words between the two coaches has rumbled on all week, with Michael Cheika criticising prop Dan Cole’s scrummaging technique and claiming Jones is looking for a chip on his shoulder.

England whitewashed the Wallabies Down Under during the summer, winning 3-0, and Cheika’s side will be looking for revenge at Twickenham.

5 mins: NO TRY! Kuridrani touched it down but it was judged to have been knocked on by Pocock as he tackled Farrell.

6 mins: TRY! England 0 Australia 7 (Naivalu)

From the resulting scrum, Australia dominate with Cole's side collapsing and the ball is shifted out wide for the winger to touchdown unchallenged. Australia have deserved that for their early pressure. And Foley adds the extras.

10 mins: Terrible mistake from Ford. England win the lineout with Wood but it gets passed back to the fly-half who takes his eye off the ball and knocks it forwards. Real lapse in concentration there.

11 mins: And we've gone back to the TMO as Australia crash over from the resulting penalty. Try: yes or no? It looks like Kepu has been held up. And he has. TMO ruled it was inconclusive. Five-metre scrum instead.

13 mins: And we're with the TMO for a third time. Again it's Kepu and again it looks like it's been held up. We'll go back for the penalty for England offside anyway. Very one-sided so far.

14 mins: 10-0 to the Wallabies. Foley puts that earlier miss out of his mind and slots the penalty through the posts.

17 mins: Douglas comes in from the side and England have a penalty of their own. Swing Low rings out around the ground as Farrell lines up his kick... and he gets it! 3-10.

Jack Austin3 December 2016 14:53

21 mins: England put on a bit of pressure with some good, fast hands from Josephy as Hughes goes on a powerful run.

22 mins: Hooper breaks through and feeds Folau but a super tackle from Brown halts him. Hartley turns it over and Ford is released. His kick is so nearly collected by Yarde, who forced Haylett-Petty to carry over his try-line. This is more like it from England.

27 mins: Haylett-Petty has to be alert again as Farrell sends in a neat kick for Yarde to chase but we go back for the penalty for an earlier infringement... and Farrell nails it again. 6-10.
