From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Eddie Jones and England are one game away from finishing 2016 with a 100 per cent winning record, with Australia the only side standing between them and perfection.
The war of words between the two coaches has rumbled on all week, with Michael Cheika criticising prop Dan Cole’s scrummaging technique and claiming Jones is looking for a chip on his shoulder.
England whitewashed the Wallabies Down Under during the summer, winning 3-0, and Cheika’s side will be looking for revenge at Twickenham.

29 mins: TRY! England 13 (Joseph) Australia 10
The ball is spilt by Kepu in midfield and Farrell kicks the loose ball ahead and Joseph is just too quick. Farrell adds the extras.
33 mins: A high tackle from Wood gives Foley a chance to level the scores. Kurindrani thought he could run through for more but the ball was spilt and play stopped. Foley makes it 13-13.
38 mins: England don't roll away and Foley gets the chance to put Australia back ahead going into half time. He missed his first kick from this spot... but he doesn't make the same mistake. 13-16.
So England are staring down the barrel of their first defeat under Eddie Jones as it stands but they still look a real danger with ball in hand. They need to be stronger around the ruck though because Pocock is dominating there. How will England react?
The pyrotechnics are back on which means we must be ready for the second half. What has Jones said to his boys at half time? We're about to find out...
42 mins: A little bit of scrum trouble here and England get the penalty which is duly kicked to touch after Sio collapsed it. England set up a maul in midfielder but loose hands from May slows the attack down.
44 mins: Sustained attack from England now and Joseph puts in a delicious low kick for Yarde to chase! Does he get there before Folau? The TMO is about to tell us... TRY! England 18 Australia 16
45 mins: Farrell gets the conversion to make it 20-16. Yards initially looked like he had knocked it on with his left hand before touching it down with his right but he was judged to ground the ball before it bounced. Just.
