A stunning first-half display helped France claim a 28-8 victory over Scotland in the Women’s Six Nations.

France, who came into the game with two wins from their opening two games, continued their 100 per cent record by earning a 28-3 half-time lead in Glasgow.

Laure Sansus scored two tries, with Jessy Tremouliere and Gaelle Hermet also crossing the line in a rampant opening 40 minutes. Tremouliere also brought her kicking boots, converting all four tries.

Scotland, who had exposed some holes in the French defence before the break, put up a spirited response in the second half and were camped in the visiting 22.

They eventually crossed the line in the 78th minute as Chloe Rollie went over after good work from Christine Belisle.

Helen Nelson missed the conversation for the Scots, who have now lost three from three.

Ireland 5-3 Italy, 30 mins

No try! Furlan did tackle Murphy Crowe but she isn’t held and dots down. Greg McWilliams looks spare, I cannot believe that hasn’t been given!

The TMO doesn’t assert his thoughts and the ref keeps her decision.

The crowd come alive as Parsons sets off but she is eventually hauled down but ireland continue their attack.

Jones does so well and so does Murphy Crowe, who looks as though she has scored. But the ref has judged her to have had a double movement and so it’s not a try!

In my opinion she wasn’t held and now the ref is sending it to the TMO. Decision impending!

There’s a break in play for Haney to get some attention, she remains on the pitch.

Ireland now on the attack with quick hands but Veronese puts in a huge hit on Murphy Crowe to slow the ball down.

Cronin dinks the ball for Flood who collects well and they push their attack into their half.

This game is certainly a bit scrappy but there’s been some bright spells from both.

We’re witnessing one from Italy here as they win the scrum and they set off in search of their first try.

They try to be too clevel and Wall manages to collect a loose ball. So frustrating for Italy who were edging closer to their line.

Ireland 5-3 Italy, 25 mins

Ireland colelct a great restart, they spill the ball but they were playing on an advantage. We come back for an Ireland scrum.

They kick away and Italy make some great breaks through Minuzzi and Veronese.

They run through multiple phases but they knock-on and Ireland have the chance to clear their lines.

Cronin misses the conversion but it is so windy at the stadium it’ll be tricky to kick.

There’s a break in play as Djougang is popping her contact lense back in!

TRY! Ireland 5-3 Italy (Mulhall, 20)

D’Inca is penalised at the breakdown and again Ireland opt for the corner, they are intent on getting that try as they’ve chosen that option over the sticks three times now.

A driving maul forms but they are forced to go through the phases, they are getting so close!

Eventually Ireland outnumber Italy and Mulhall runs in to score. What a patient try.

Ireland 0-3 Italy, 17 mins

There’s more frustration for Italy as Madia knocks the ball on which gives Ireland a scrum five metres from their line.

It’s a great Italian scrum as they push the hosts backwards but they manage to hold onto the ball.

Quick ruck ball isn’t available as Italy do well at the breakdown to slow it down, Flood kicks it through seeing the lack of go forward in the phases. It goes out of play, an Italian line-out sees Ireland come away with it!

The first try goes begging though as Jones keeps the tackler in the ruck. So scrappy so far!

Ireland 0-3 Italy, 14 mins

Centurion Barratin knocks the ball on at the base of the scrum, a sloppy error for the experienced player.

Ireland pop the ball out of the resulting scrum and Murphy Crowe again makes huge metres! The winger is having a cracker so far. Rigoni brings her down but a few phases later Italy give away another kickable penalty.

Instead of banking three points, Ireland opt for the corner. An opportunity wasted as they lose the line-out.

Ireland 0-3 Italy, 12 mins

Ireland get the scrum penalty! A great shift from them, especially Haney, as they kick upfield.

The line-out spills but Ireland do enough to recover it. Rigoni then rips the ball and clears. Murphy Crowe gathers and runs it to set her team off on another hunt for points.

But they have to wait a little longer with a pass from Cronin going forward. This is breathless so far, both sides keen to get the start and momentum on their side.
