A stunning first-half display helped France claim a 28-8 victory over Scotland in the Women’s Six Nations.

France, who came into the game with two wins from their opening two games, continued their 100 per cent record by earning a 28-3 half-time lead in Glasgow.

Laure Sansus scored two tries, with Jessy Tremouliere and Gaelle Hermet also crossing the line in a rampant opening 40 minutes. Tremouliere also brought her kicking boots, converting all four tries.

Scotland, who had exposed some holes in the French defence before the break, put up a spirited response in the second half and were camped in the visiting 22.

They eventually crossed the line in the 78th minute as Chloe Rollie went over after good work from Christine Belisle.

Helen Nelson missed the conversation for the Scots, who have now lost three from three.

Ireland 17-3 Italy, 49 mins

The kicks are all going Ireland’s way at the moment as Flood kicks through to Murphy Crowe once again.

They run through the phases but Wall knocks on, an Italian scrum to come.

Italy need to get a foothold in this match soon or hopes of their first win will go up in smoke.

Ireland 17-3 Italy, 47 mins

Italy are back to 15 as Giordano comes back from her sin binning.

Ireland get the advantage from a strong scrum and Cronin kicks cross field to Muprhy Crowe who collects.

After a few phases Flood kicks away and it’s unfortunate for Italy who knock-on. Ireland have started this half so brightly.

CONVERSION! Ireland 17-3 Italy (Cronin, 44)

And not in doubt this time for Cronin! Game on, what a start to the second half.

TRY! Ireland 15-3 Italy (Higgins, 43)

The ref warns O’Connor not to run after Flood’s kick but it was too tempting and she gives away the penalty for offside.

Italy therefore have the first attacking position of the half but they can’t throw straight in the line-out.

Minuzzi does really well to keep the ball in play after it bounces around but Higgins pounces on a kick. Wow!

Back underway! Ireland 10-3 Italy

The teams are back on the pitch and raring to go in this second 40.

Italy have made a change with Madia off and Stefan on.

Ireland look set to get their first win but can Italy trigger a comeback?

Half-time: Ireland 10-3 Italy

Twitter is abuzz with that controversial call on Murphy Crowe’s try.

What did you think? In my opinion it was a try. Furlan did tackle her but it wasn’t completed with the winger wiggling away.

It was a tough call for Ireland but they remain deservedly ahead.

Half-time: Ireland 10-3 Italy

The last spells of the first half saw an Italy attack end in Rigoni offside.

Ireland deserve to be ahead at half-time and by more after Murphy Crowe’s try was controversially chalked off.

But Mulhall and Jones’ scores split the teams. Can Ireland hold on for their first win or will Italy spoil the party? Second half to come.

Ireland 10-3 Italy, 37 mins

Cronin misses an easy kick, it is very breezy there but the fly-half will be disappointed not to slot that one.

Ireland are on the attack again with Higgins controlling the ball well. Parsons trues to get away but it smacks a defender and heads into touch.

Every time Parsons gets the ball the crowd come to life. Definitely a fan favourite.

TRY! Ireland 10-3 Italy (Jones, 34)

There we go, vindication for Ireland as Jones crashes over from a driving maul.

YELLOW CARD! Ireland 5-3 Italy (Giordano, 33)

Ireland are slightly vindicated as they win a penalty as Italy look to attack. They kick to the corner and will want that try which should have been moments ago.

The driving maul is marching forward but they decide to splinter. Ireland have the advantage as Italy stray offside and Cronin gets inches from the line. Dane is caught in two minds and should have passed to Parsons.

We come back for the offside and Giordano is shown yellow after an accumulation of penalties.
