From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

New Zealand are into the World Cup final after a thrilling win over India.

The Kiwis posted 239 following Tuesday's rain delay and looked destined to cruise home when they removed Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli with the new ball. But a brilliant fightback from Ravi Jadeja and MS Dhoni saw India roar back into it before Trent Boult's saw off Jadeja before Dhoni was run out in dramatic fashion at the death.

New Zealand will now face either England or Australia in Sunday's showpiece.

39.1 - India 145-6, R Jadeja 36, MS Dhoni 23, L Ferguson 0-17 (6.1)

Ferguson returns and is gloved for a boundary straight away, down the leg side and just enough on it from Jadeja. 50 partnership!

40.0 - India 148-6, R Jadeja 39, MS Dhoni 24, L Ferguson 0-22 (7)

These two have played a hell of a lot of cricket today both internationally and in the IPL with Chennai, and they are managing this well. Jadeja is scoring more freely at the moment and is the one doing the attacking, trying to put the onus back on the New Zealand bowlers and get the asking rate down, with Dhoni sticking around for a closing salvo if required. Nine from the over, and into the final ten.

Santner to finish up with an extra boundary rider for added protection.

40.5 - India 159-6, R Jadeja 45, MS Dhoni 27, M Santner 2-34 (9.5)

MASSIVE!

Down the pitch again, to cow corner on this occasion the bat swings. Another fine connection, another sizeable six!

41.0 - India 159-6, R Jadeja 45, MS Dhoni 27, M Santner 2-34 (10)

Close!

Jadeja stabs at the final ball, trying to get it into a leg side gap for a single but only success in using a leading edge, which very nearly carries too midwicket.

It doesn't, and Santner completes an excellent spell.

Jimmy Neesham. He's probably got three more to bowl, and that might be an issue for New Zealand.

41.4 - India 164-6, R Jadeja 49, MS Dhoni 28, J Neesham 0-34 (5.4)

All cutters from Neesham to Dhoni, who can only get one from the first three balls.

Another to Jadeja, but the batsman is prepared and rocks back to power a shorter ball through Ross Taylor at midwicket for four!

41.5 - India 166-6, R Jadeja 51, MS Dhoni 28, J Neesham 0-36 (5.5)

And a hastily run two brings up the 50 for Ravi Jadeja, his first since 2014, and out comes the flowing sword celebration. This has been a quite magnificent knock so far, from 39 balls with 3x4 and 3x6.

42.0 - India 167-6, R Jadeja 52, MS Dhoni 28, J Neesham 0-39 (6)

72 from 48. Exactly nine-an-over. There are twists yet to come, you feel.

Lockie Ferguson.
