From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. New Zealand are into the World Cup final after a thrilling win over India.

The Kiwis posted 239 following Tuesday's rain delay and looked destined to cruise home when they removed Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli with the new ball. But a brilliant fightback from Ravi Jadeja and MS Dhoni saw India roar back into it before Trent Boult's saw off Jadeja before Dhoni was run out in dramatic fashion at the death.

New Zealand will now face either England or Australia in Sunday's showpiece.

To the middle wander Sharma and Rahul, no real sense of urgency. A couple of practice forward strokes from Rahul, a purposeful amble from Sharma, eyes down, concentrated.

Trent Boult with the new ball, striving for swing, I'm sure. KL Rahul to face. 240 to get. The second innings begins...

1.0 - India 2-0, KL Rahul 1, Rohit Sharma 1, Trent Boult 0-2 (1)

Intent from the off from Rahul, calling through his partner for a single pushed short of mid-off. To the danger end he scampers in relative comfort despite a flick at the stumps.

Rohit follows him off the mark with a turn into the leg side.

Not too much for Trent Boult to play with from the looks of things. He throws up a wider half-volley that Rahul is content to leave alone and it rather holds its path. Two from the first.

Matt Henry to share the new white Kookaburra.

OUT! That's the big one! Henry gets Rohit Sharma!

That's a lovely ball, and exactly the ball to get a player like Sharma. On a length at off-stump, Sharma is reluctant to push forward to it, and is lured into a leaden-footed vague defensive shot in an attempt to combat it.

A hint of nip away, a fine edge, caught behind.

Virat Kohli with a score to chase down. This could be fun.

Harry Latham-Coyle10 July 2019 11:10

2.0 - India 5-1, KL Rahul 1, Virat Kohli 1, Matt Henry 1-1 (1)

A lovely start from Matt Henry, finding a bit of wobble with a scrambled seam.

OUT! An inswinger from Boult, Kohli is struck on the pads and the umpire raises the finger!

Kohli reviews...

This looked dead live. The front foot is fine.

Kohli has propped forward and looked to flick to leg. He hasn't hit it, but it has swung a fair distance and looks to be a little high, too.
