From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

New Zealand are into the World Cup final after a thrilling win over India.

The Kiwis posted 239 following Tuesday's rain delay and looked destined to cruise home when they removed Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli with the new ball. But a brilliant fightback from Ravi Jadeja and MS Dhoni saw India roar back into it before Trent Boult's saw off Jadeja before Dhoni was run out in dramatic fashion at the death.

New Zealand will now face either England or Australia in Sunday's showpiece.

42.0 - New Zealand 170-4, C de Grandhomme 5, R Taylor 42, Y Chahal 1-46 (9)

And he's very nearly on his way rather swiftly, beaten by the drift of Chahal and inside-edging past leg stump as the ball turns to take the edge of his bat.

Oh dear - the groundstaff are readying themselves and there are a few umbrellas going up around the ground. The rain might be arriving.

43.0 - New Zealand 179-4, C de Grandhomme 12, R Taylor 44, H Pandya 1-55 (10)

Poor bowling, good batting and four. Third man is moved finer but Hardik Pandya pushes an attempted short ball wide of off stump, and it's very comfortably guided wide of that fielder by de Grandhomme.

Pandya closes his spell with a nine-run over. That hip issue seems to have disappeared.

43.1 - New Zealand 185-4, CdG 12, R Taylor 50, Y Chahal 1-52 (9.1)

BISH BASH BOSH! That's a right thump of a slog sweep from Ross Taylor!

Tossed up from Chahal and rocketed into the stands at quite the rate, the first maximum of the day and bringing up 50 for Taylor, from 73 balls with 2x4 and 1x6.

44.0 - New Zealand 197-4, CdG 16, R Taylor 56, Y Chahal 1-63 (10)

Is this the over New Zealand need to get going? Taylor follows the six with a two and then a well-placed punch for four through the leg-side, before de Grandhomme gets in on the act with a cut to the point boundary. That's comfortably the biggest over of the day, 18 from it.

Kumar and Bumrah to close things out...

Harry Latham-Coyle9 July 2019 13:48

OUT! And Kumar snares Taylor LBW!

But Taylor will review...

Harry Latham-Coyle9 July 2019 13:48

Taylor is looking to sweep, but he's late on the shot and this yorker from Kumar snipes past his bat.

Harry Latham-Coyle9 July 2019 13:49

But the impact is outside the line!

Taylor was walking off! He's got right across his stumps, so far in fact that this very full ball has struck his pad outside the line of off-stump.

Taylor survives.

Harry Latham-Coyle9 July 2019 13:50

OUT! Nicked, and caught behind!

A review won't save Colin de Grandhomme. Shorter from Kumar, an off-cutter into the surface that comes back at the batsman and cramps him for room. He's looking to run this down to third man but the space isn't there for de Grandhomme to play such a shot, and that's a very tame way to get out.

C de Grandhomme c †Dhoni b Kumar 16 (10b 2x4 0x6), New Zealand 200-5 (44.4)
