From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The Kiwis posted 239 following Tuesday's rain delay and looked destined to cruise home when they removed Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli with the new ball. But a brilliant fightback from Ravi Jadeja and MS Dhoni saw India roar back into it before Trent Boult's saw off Jadeja before Dhoni was run out in dramatic fashion at the death.
New Zealand will now face either England or Australia in Sunday's showpiece.

Pandya's back, and looks to be moving properly freely after having treatment on his hip.
37.4 - New Zealand 143-3, J Neesham 4, R Taylor 30, H Pandya 0-36 (7.4)
Dropped! Rohit Sharma at midwicket!
A slower short ball from Pandya draws a checked pull from Neesham, an attempted controlled guide only skewing up into the air, looping above Sharma who gets a hand to it running back but can't hold on. Could he have dived at it?
38.0 - New Zealand 145-3, J Neesham 4, R Taylor 31, H Pandya 0-39 (8)
Neither batsman is finding it particularly easy to attack. Pandya has gone to his slower balls, which have proved effective throughout the tournament.
39.0 - New Zealand 151-3, J Neesham 5, R Taylor 36, B Kumar 0-23 (7)
A degree of timing found by Ross Taylor as he pulls a back-of-a-length ball to the left of KL Rahul at deep square leg and comes back for two.
But the ball scoots beneath his bat as he tries a similar shot to a ball pushed slightly fuller. Six from Kumar's seventh over.
Bumrah to bowl one. Kohli perhaps trying to break this partnership before it gains steam ahead of the final charge.
40.0 - New Zealand 155-3, J Neesham 7, R Taylor 38, J Bumrah 1-18 (7)
Try as they might, he's just so incredibly hard to get away. Four from the over including a single that might've been tight with a direct hit from Virat Kohli at extra-cover.
Ten overs left. I don't think this is a ten-an-over death overs pitch, and there are still three more to negotiate from Bumrah. Pandya from the James Anderson End.
40.5 - New Zealand 162-3, J Neesham 12, R Taylor 40, H Pandya 0-46 (8.5)
Pandya is a tough man to get away when he goes to his slower balls, but he gets one wrong here, dragging it down and allowing Neesham to wait and wait and pull wide of fine leg for four.
OUT! Revenge! Jimmy Neesham chips to long-on!
An odd dismissal. Full and straight from Pandya and Neesham goes at it, but gets a great leading edge as he looks to flick over the leg-side.
While normally a ball struck in such a manner would loop somewhere over the bowler's head this one travels and keeps travelling, a mile in the air and eventually settling into the hands of Dinesh Karthik at long-on, who takes the catch very calmly.
J Neesham c Karthik b Pandya 12 (18b 1x4 0x6), New Zealand 162-4 (41)
