Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Follow the latest updates live from the Premier League with four matches kicking off at 3pm.

The battle for seventh place and potential Europa League football sees Watford host Wolves at Vicarage Road, with the victor set to surge ahead as favourites to finish as ‘best of the rest’ in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace are looking to build on their victory over Arsenal last time out as they welcome Everton to Selhurst Park, while a big day in the relegation battle sees Cardiff City travel to Fulham – with Brighton and Hove Albion taking on Newcastle United in the day’s late game. Southampton meanwhile take on fellow south coast side Bournemouth. Follow the live action below.

Premier League fixtures

Crystal Palace vs Everton – 3pm

Fulham vs Cardiff City – 3pm

Southampton vs Bournemouth – 3pm

Watford vs Wolves – 3pm

Can either Palace or Everton burst the game open?

Harry Latham-Coyle27 April 2019 16:01

Wolves will be four points clear in seventh as things stand. Watford will be keen to get back on level terms.

WILSON!

Harry Latham-Coyle27 April 2019 16:04

Can Callum Wilson add to that tally?

Resumption on the South Coast.

GOAL! Watford 1-1 Wolves (Andre Gray, 49 minutes)

Quite the error from the Wolves defence and Andre Gray fires home on the rebound!

Just what Watford needed. A ball is played foolishly across the edge of Wolves' box right to Gerard Deulofeu's feet, and though Rui Patricio reacts well to keep out the Spaniard's shot he can do little about Gray's follow-up finish.

Back in the balance.

Gray - Wolves:

Harry Latham-Coyle27 April 2019 16:09

Running considerably behind, but the second half has begun at Craven Cottage.

Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton, 53 minutes

Close!

Bernard hits the post after Everton show patience in attack.

And then a penalty appeal! Corner given, Patrick Van Aanholt challenging.

On second look, it seems Richarlison has dived. It definitely isn't a corner, anyway.

Fulham 0-0 Cardiff, 48 minutes

An opening for Fulham, and it falls to the feet of just who they would want it too.

Aleksandar Mitrovic curls over the crossbar from 15 yards out. Should have hit the target.

GOAL! Southampton 2-2 Bournemouth (James Ward-Prowse, 55 minutes)

Southampton level things up again!

We know the quality James Ward-Prowse has in that right foot of his, but it is with his left he finishes here.

The midfielder finds space on the edge of the box and drills into the corner.

Good game at St Mary's. More goals to come?
