From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The battle for seventh place and potential Europa League football sees Watford host Wolves at Vicarage Road, with the victor set to surge ahead as favourites to finish as ‘best of the rest’ in the Premier League.
Crystal Palace are looking to build on their victory over Arsenal last time out as they welcome Everton to Selhurst Park, while a big day in the relegation battle sees Cardiff City travel to Fulham – with Brighton and Hove Albion taking on Newcastle United in the day’s late game. Southampton meanwhile take on fellow south coast side Bournemouth. Follow the live action below.
Premier League fixtures
Tottenham 0-1 West Ham
Crystal Palace vs Everton – 3pm
Fulham vs Cardiff City – 3pm
Southampton vs Bournemouth – 3pm
Watford vs Wolves – 3pm
Brighton vs Newcastle United – 5:30pm
85 minutes
Shane Duffy gets his head on the ball but his contact is thin, and he can't direct it goalwards.
87 minutes
Newcastle look for a winner of their own, Javier Manquillo's dangerous ball finger tipped away by a stretching Mathew Ryan, and then an optimistic drive from Kenedy flies over the top, always rising.
89 minutes
Brighton resume their hunt, but the problems from before they scored remain, plenty of passing from side to side, little in the way of incision.
Solly March does win a corner off Fabian Schar's hip. Chance to load the box. Can they make an opportunity to deliver count?
90 minutes
What a chance! What a miss!
Martin Dubravka palms away the initial delivery but misjudges Anthony Knockaert's subsequent cross, and it curls onto Glenn Murray's head about two yards out.
Over the top, Murray just unable to keep his header down. Nearly the winner.
Three minutes added on.
90 + 2 minutes
Glenn Murray fouls Fabian Schar. A firm push in the back on halfway.
Newcastle will launch the free kick towards the Brighton box.
It comes up 15 yards shy. Into the final few moments of added time.
Not quite the win Chris Hughton would have hoped for, but another point towards safety for Brighton. They move four points ahead of Cardiff with just two games to come.
With a trip to Old Trafford still on the docket for Neil Warnock's side, you have to think that Brighton may have enough to survive already. And that's a good thing - a visit to the Emirates and Manchester City on the final day are all that remain for the Seagulls. This may well be their final point, and it could prove a crucial one.
Brighton have an advantage of 14 when it comes to goal difference, too, which means Cardiff will likely have to win both of their remaining games to have a hope of survival.
Newcastle jump ahead of Bournemouth into 13th on goal difference. A decent away point for Rafa Benitez's side, who didn't over-exert themselves. Title-chasing Liverpool and a resurgent Fulham to come for them.
That'll do it for our coverage of today's Premier League action.
