From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Premier League fixtures

Crystal Palace vs Everton – 3pm
Fulham vs Cardiff City – 3pm
Southampton vs Bournemouth – 3pm
Watford vs Wolves – 3pm
Brighton vs Newcastle United – 5:30pm
Watford 0-0 Wolves, 33 minutes
Oh so close for Wolves, but that's a superb clearance from Etienne Capoue!
Millimetres from his line, Capoue somehow manages to keep out Raul Jimenez's effort.
Callum Wilson slots in the second on the rebound as Bournemouth turn things around at St Mary's.
GOAL! Watford 0-1 Wolves (Raul Jimenez, 41 minutes)
Moments after Will Hughes misses a great chance, Wolves take the lead!
It is a brilliant ball in from Diogo Jota to his strike partner, who heads in well via Ben Foster's leg.
The best striking duo in the league?
Fulham 0-0 Cardiff, 45 minutes
A pretty cagey first 45 minutes at Craven Cottage, hugely disrupted by Denis Odoi's unfortunate injury, to which we also owe the nine additional minutes to be played.
Cardiff will have the wind in the second half, though.
Fulham 0-0 Cardiff, 45 + 7 minutes
Still playing at Craven Cottage, and Fulham might have had a penalty had Ryan Babel gone down there.
He stays on his feet, however, and tees up Ryan Sessegnon, who can't produce a finish of quality on the volley.
