For the Gunners, the top four is now out of sight and they are content with chasing Chelsea in fifth above them while holding off the charge of Burnley from below.
Newcastle meanwhile are sitting pretty above the relegation scrap, seemingly safe on 38 points, and can now target a top-half finish which would be an impressive achievement from a squad which many experts tipped to struggle this season.

83: Not a huge number of chances to report on in the closing stages. Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez are popping up in good areas but West Brom are quick to close down the spaces.
84: Daniel Sturridge is coming on to get some minutes after injuring himself against Chelsea in February; Salamon Rondon makes way.
86: Manchester United work the ball around the edge of the box and Nemanja Matic tries to find Alexis Sanchez with a precise pass, but the ball is inaccurate and West Brom have a goal kick. The frustration in the stands is very obvious.

On Sky Sports Nemanja Vidic gives his thoughts on the game. "I thought United today didn't move the ball fast enough they, didn't move off the ball enough. They keep trying to play through the middle but they couldn't. I hope Manchester United next year are better and challenge them (Manchester City)."
