Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

GOAL!
WATFORD 1 - 0 LEICESTER CITY
Capoue has broke the deadlock after just one minute, as Deeney knocks him down a headed assist, and then he volleys it into the back of the net.
Great start for Watford.
SOUTHAMPTON V LIVERPOOL
Both sides have started quickly, but neither team are able to find the final product so far. It's been an attractive start to the game.
STOKE V BOURNEMOUTH
Stoke have started well, with Bojan making an early impact on the game. The home side enter the bout with an impressive home record, so Bournemouth have a job to do this afternoon.
WATFORD 2 - 0 LEICESTER
GOAL
The home side have doubled their tally and it's Pereyra with the goal. And what a goal it is.
The Argentine international bombs down the left flank and cuts back in on his right foot, and fires a strike into the far corner, leaving the keeper helpless. What a finish from the 25 year old. It's a momentous start from The Hornet's - Mazzarri will be hoping his side continue this fine form.
WATFORD 2 - 1 LEICESTER
GOAL
The two goal cushion for Watford did not last long. Leicester won a penalty shortly after Watford's second goal, with Vardy going down inside of the box.
Mahrez steps up to the penalty and sends it straight down the middle to bring his side back into the game.
