Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Champions League finalists Liverpool turn their attentions to domestic matters this afternoon as they travel to Chelsea in an attempt to secure their place in Europe’s top competition for another season.

A win for Chelsea will see them draw level on points with the Reds going into the final two games of the season, and they will back themselves to hunt Jurgen Klopp’s side down with their not-so-little distraction in the form of Real Madrid in Kiev.

Mohamed Salah is gunning for a record goal tally in a Premier League season having already scored 31, but is Chelsea’s defence up to the challenge?

Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

84: Liverpool are really pushing for an equaliser and Chelsea are showing some signs of fragility. Jordan Henderson's curling cross is touched by Cesar Azpilicueta who is facing his own goal and forces tests his goalkeeper's reactions.

Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool

87: Eden Hazard is coming off after another superb shift in a Chelsea shirt. He has been a real handful for the Liverpool defenders who have struggled to keep tabs on him.

Arsenal 5-0 Burnley

87: Per Mertesacker, while playing in defence, is certainly not holding back when there's a chance for him to get forward. Could he get a goal to cap off a perfect farewell party?

Arsenal 5-0 Burnley

88: Post!

Danny Welbeck lets Henrikh Mkhitaryan's lay off run across him then blasts the ball from around 30 yards onto the post. What a goal that would have been.

Chelsea's fight for challenge for the top four is not over yet

Five goals and a five star performance

As farewells go, it surely can't get much better than that.

Goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Sead Kolasinac, Alex Iwobi and a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang round off a fine display in Arsene Wenger's final match as Arsenal manager.

'One Arsene Wenger' echoed around the Emirates before, during and continues after the final whistle.

Celebrations

Giant banners reading 'Merci Arsene' have been brought onto the Emirates pitch, and letters spelling the same message have been displayed on the pitch.

Stay turned for live updates as Arsene Wenger waves goodbye to Arsenal.
