Manchester United have been the club to watch so far with completed moves for Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but they appear to be far from done in the transfer window and still have interest in Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff.

However, Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has emerged as a surprise target despite appearing close to a move to Tottenham, which would upset Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy no end. Spurs do appear close to their first summer signing in two years though, with Jack Clarke set to join this week before returning to Leeds United on a free transfer.

In Europe, Adrien Rabiot has now left Paris Saint-Germain and is expected to join Juventus today, while Liverpool have reportedly been offered two players in the form of former midfielder Philippe Coutinho and Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio – however the latter comes at the cost of current forward Sadio Mane.

Ed Woodward, the Manchester United executive vice-chairman, has emailed all staff at the club to reveal what their new approach will be in the transfer market.

Fresh from the £50m signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, United are looking to sign "more exciting" players who fit the "long-term vision" of the club, according to The Telegraph.

It adds that United fans should expect more arrivals before the 8 August deadline, and that these players will fit the "philosophy" of the club that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is trying to introduce.

Manchester United are being linked with a move for Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn, but his £50m valuation could well put the Premier League giants off.

The Sun reports that McGinn has caught the eye of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with his performances in Villa's promotion-winning season, and the 24-year-old is being viewed as a potential target if others head out the door.

But Villa's determination to hold on to the Scotland international has seen the club slap a hefty price tag on McGinn, that would see him cost the same as what United just committed to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

It's the picture Arsenal fans dreaded to see.

Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic is on his way out of the club once again as he has agreed a second consecutive loan spell with Hertha Berlin.

The Serbia international has made just eight league appearances for the Reds since joining in 2016, and is not a part of Jurgen Klopp's plans.

Transfer confirmed: Leeds United have signed two players from the Premier League on season-long loans.

Jack Harrison rejoins the club from Manchester City for a second consecutive season at Elland Road after impressing during 2018/19's run to the play-offs, and joins in a similar deal from Brighton and Hove Albion, having finished the 2019 campaign at Peterborough United.

Juventus are on the verge of announcing the signing of Adrien Rabiot.

The midfielder is currently in Turin undergoing a medical, and he will become the second player to join the club this summer on a free transfer following the acquisition of Aaron Ramsey.

Rabiot had caught the attentions of both Arsenal and Manchester United in the past, but decided that Juventus was the right move after his Paris Saint-Germain contract expired.

Transfer confirmed: Southampton have confirmed the £11m departure of left-back Matty Targett to Aston Villa.

The Saints academy product joined the club 15 years ago, but joins the recently promoted club on a permanent deal.

Southampton have officially confirmed his departure, while Villa head coach Dean Smith has said: "We're very pleased to have Matt join us. He's a player we have been looking at for a considerable amount of time.

"He fits our criteria of being a young player with experience of playing in the Premier League and having the potential to develop further. He will help make us a stronger defensive unit and we are all looking forward to working with him."

Transfer confirmed: That money from selling Targett to Villa barely had time to hit the Southampton accounts before heading to Birmingham as the club have announced the signing of forward Che Adams.

A Southampton statement reads: "Southampton Football Club is delighted to announce it has reached an agreement to sign exciting young forward Che Adams, from Birmingham City.

"Saints have seen off competition from a number of Premier League suitors to land the striker, who registered 22 goals and six assists in 48 appearances last season. The 22-year-old, who was shortlisted for the Championship Player of the Year and named in the Team of the Season at the EFL Awards, has agreed a five-year contract at St Mary’s.

Saints boss Hasenhüttl said: “Che fits the profile of player we want to bring to Southampton and is very driven to show what he can do at the highest level. We have been monitoring his progress for some time now. He has shown a desire to join us above all other clubs, which shows the positive reputation Southampton has built for developing young players. I am delighted to have signed Che and Moussa ahead of the start of pre-season. They are both young, dynamic players with the level of enthusiasm and hunger we are looking for that can help us improve as a team.”

Adams commented: “I’m delighted. There was interest in January, when it didn’t quite happen, but I’m happy now that it’s all gone through.

“You can see with the track history – the amount of young players they’re playing, the gaffer’s belief in the young players, the squad in itself – where the club is going to be. I want to be part of that.”

Manchester United have officially announced what number new signing Daniel James will wear after completing his move from Swansea.

The 21-year-old will sport the No 21 shirt this season, inheriting it from Ander Herrera who has now officially left the club after his contract ended yesterday.
