The final in Porto was not a game for the ages as a match billed as a battle between the two captains, Cristiano Ronaldo and Virgil Van Dijk, was settled by Valencia forward Guedes on the hour mark.
The 1-0 win was enough for the reigning European champions to add the inaugural Nations League crown to their honours list with victory in front of their own fans. Re-live the action below:

51 mins: Ronaldo gives the ball away to Depay who slots it through to Wijnaldum. Wijnaldum runs into the box and shoots but Rui Patricio saves it with a strong right hand before the flag goes up for offside.

54 mins: They're moving the ball quicker now, the Dutch. Depay puts a cross in from the left but Rui Patricio keeps hold of the ball. At the other end Portugal win a corner. From the first corner they win a second and from the second Fonte scrambles over Ronaldo to the ball before Cillessen claims it.

57 mins: The pressure is mounting on both teams. van Dijk clears another corner before Depay squeezes past Fonte and wins one of his own.

Bergwijn goes off and on comes Van de Beek for the Dutch. Play restarts for Portugal on the left, the ball comes to Guedes who nutmegs de Ligt with a pass to Bernardo Silva. Bernardo runs into the box and draws van Dijk to him before laying Guedes up in the gap left by van Dijk. Guedes runs onto the ball and strikes one into the bottom right corner to give Portugal the lead.

69 mins: Wijnaldum in space on the right switches it out to Promes on the left hand side. The ball comes into the box and Dias blocks it off. Better from the Dutch though.

72 mins: A free kick for Netherlands is cleared by Portugal. Ronaldo gives the signal for his men to stay switched on, the Netherlands look more threatening than they have all game.

Bernardo Silva twists into the box and goes down after he loses the ball.
