From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Palace took the lead through Andros Townsend after just seven minutes, and they doubled their advantage on 74 minutes when Wilfried Zaha netted a re-take from the penalty spot after David de Gea stepped off his line when saving Jordan Ayew’s initial effort.
United debutant Donny van de Beek came off the bench to pull one back for the hosts, but Zaha bagged his brace with five minutes remaining at Old Trafford to put the result beyond doubt. Re-live all the updates below:
45+2 mins: Reed has a go from range but doesn’t get hold of it and Meslier is left with an easy save. The whistle goes for half time and we’ve been treated to a more than decent game. It’s tough to tell which way this one will go, Fulham have given away two easy goals and Leeds gave the visitors a nonsensical penalty.
42 mins: Tete makes an overlapping run and Anguissa tries to pick him out with a cross field pass. The pass is too heavy and it goes past Tete and out for a goal kick.
Leeds 2 - 1 Fulham - Klich
40 mins: GOAL! As cool as you like, Areola dives to his right and Klich slots the ball to the keeper’s left. Leeds back in front.
39 mins: Penalty to Leeds this time! Bamford down, Bryan to blame for a little shove.
36 mins: It was a silly challenge from Koch. He didn’t need to make the tackle and now he’s given away two penalties in two games.
Leeds 1 - 1 Fulham - Mitrovic
34 mins: GOAL! No mistakes from the spot for Mitrovic, he converts the penalty and Fulham are back level.
33 mins: Penalty to Fulham! Bryan is sent into the left side of the box, Koch slides in and takes Bryan’s legs out from under him.
