Liverpool beat Wolverhampton Wanderers but failed to win the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp's side had already pulled off one miraculous comeback this week but couldn't do it again after City won at Brighton. The Reds did their part however with Sadio Mane tapping home the opener after just 17 minutes before the Senegalese added a second 10 minutes from time.

Here's how it played out:

Well that didn't last long. Aguero levels for Man City.

Liverpool are still on top though as Boly hits a long ball forward that Robertson heads away. Neves puts it back forward aiming for Jota but the pass is too heavy.

Since the goal Wolves have defended well. Doherty takes the ball off Origi but the visitors can't keep it. Robertson comes in from the left, gives it to Wijnaldum who then wins a corner for Liverpool.

Alexander-Arnold swings it in, it's headed out to the edge of the box and Salah hits it on the volley but puts it over the bar.

45+1 mins: Liverpool 1 - 0 Wolves

1 added minute is played with no major inroads from either side and Liverpool go into the break with a one-goal lead.

Unfortunately for them though Man City lead against Brighton as well.

The equation is no different at half-time. Liverpool still need to win but a silver lining for the Reds is that Brighton have proven they can score against Man City.

SECOND HALF: Liverpool 1 - 0 Wolves

Wolves restart the match. 45 minutes of the season left. 45 minutes to determine where in the North West the Premier League trophy will be calling home.
