Liverpool beat Wolverhampton Wanderers but failed to win the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp's side had already pulled off one miraculous comeback this week but couldn't do it again after City won at Brighton. The Reds did their part however with Sadio Mane tapping home the opener after just 17 minutes before the Senegalese added a second 10 minutes from time.

Liverpool start the match. They've got 90 minutes to win the match and potentially the Premier League. Salah gets into the box early but Boly and Coady clear the danger.

Liverpool are patient in their build up but Matip hits a long ball up to Origi. Origi brings it down in the box turns and shoots sending the ball past Coady into the arms of Rui Patricio.

Origi gets the ball in the middle of the park and sends it to Salah on the right. He runs it into the box but Wolves hold strong and get the ball away.

Salah tries to flick the ball into Mane in Wolves' box. The visitors are sitting deep and Mane tries to leave the ball for Robertson who comes forward down the left wing but Dendoncker intercepts and boots it away.

A Liverpool free kick comes to nothing and Wolves win a free kick of their own. They send it long before working it back to the goalkeeper just to keep possession. Pressure from Mane wins Liverpool a throw in.

It's still goalless between Man City and Brighton so the equation hasn't changed for Liverpool. 

Matip gives the ball away for Liverpool but Mane wins it back, he gives it to Origi won tries to return the pass but Bennett intercepts for Wolves.

Lovely play from Liverpool!

Alexander-Arnold plays a one-two with Henderson to get some space on the right wing. He puts a low cross into the box, the ball takes a slight deflection but comes to Mane who puts a cool right foot through the ball and finds the back of the net.

Liverpool move to the top of the table!

Liverpool have the bit between their teeth but Wolves are giving them a game. Jota runs it forward down the left but is forced back. The visitors switch the play and get it down the right. The ball comes into the box and Alisson claims it.

Fabinho flicks the ball past Neves and goes on a run down the right. He tries a cross but Boly blocks it. The ball floats out to the left and Robertson hits a long one forcing Rui Patricio to make a diving save!
