Jurgen Klopp's side had already pulled off one miraculous comeback this week but couldn't do it again after City won at Brighton. The Reds did their part however with Sadio Mane tapping home the opener after just 17 minutes before the Senegalese added a second 10 minutes from time.

48 mins: Liverpool 1 - 0 Wolves
Salah wins a free kick as Boly brings him down. Alexander-Arnold takes a shot and finds the side netting for Liverpool.
51 mins: Liverpool 1 - 0 Wolves
Bennett gets caught as Mane breaks on the counter for Liverpool. The Wolves man brings Mane down and gives away a free kick getting put in the book as a result.
Diogo Jota then takes out Fabinho from behind and joins him on a yellow card. Wolves are losing composure when they're perfectly capable of getting back into the game.
54 mins: Liverpool 1 - 0 Wolves
Jota wins a free kick as Matip shoulders him off the ball, Wolves get in behind Robertson with a long ball from Coady and Doherty puts it into the box, Jimenez misses it but Jonny comes running onto the ball and gets his shot blocked.
57 mins: Liverpool 1 - 0 Wolves
Jimenez is shoved off the ball as he tries to cross it from the right so the ball goes out for a goal kick. It's been a strongish period for Wolves, they've seen a lot of the ball but haven't created a clear cut chance.
60 mins: Liverpool 1 - 0 Wolves
Sloppy from Fabinho as he brings down Jimenez. Liverpool need to up the tempo but a lot of their players played mid-week and tiredness may be an issue.
Wolves slot Jimenez into the box and he sends a shot wide of goal.

First Wolves get into the box on the right with Doherty who tries to find Jimenez with a cross, Matip heads it away before Salah wins the ball. He gives it to Origi who puts a long ball forward to Mane. Mane takes it into the box, holds it up and finds Origi who shoots but Coady comes across and deflects it wide.
66 mins: Liverpool 1 - 0 Wolves
That was Divock Origi's last touch of the season as he makes way for James Milner.
It could be curtains for Liverpool's title run shot though as Mahrez puts Man City 3-1 in front at Brighton.
69 mins: Liverpool 1 - 0 Wolves
Doherty slots a long ball over the centre-backs and finds Jota who works it to the left of the box and shoots but Alisson covers the near post and makes the save.
72 mins: Liverpool 1 - 0 Wolves
The title is gone but Liverpool can still have to win this game but Wolves look the more likely of the two to score. Alisson makes another good save to deny Jota.
Man City have gone 4-1 up.
