Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in June to win the Champions League for a sixth time. The Reds have meanwhile won the Super Cup more than any other English side with three wins, with their last title coming in 2005, when they beat CSKA Moscow 3-1 in the Netherlands.
Chelsea, who beat Arsenal to win the Europa League last season, are looking to win the Super Cup for the second time. Their only previous success came when they beat Real Madrid 1-0 in Monaco in 1998. Follow the latest updates below:

48 mins: GOAL! Mane has the equaliser, Firmino with the assist, Liverpool back in the match.
A ball from the right is played over the top by Fabinho, Firmino reacts first bringing the ball down, Kepa tries to make the block but it rolls out to Mane who taps in for an easy goal.

51 mins: Liverpool have the confidence now, Fabinho takes a shot from range but it goes wide.
Emerson bombs forward for Chelsea and gets into the box, he holds the ball up, waits and passes it to Giroud but pressure from van Dijk gets the ball out of play.

54 mins: Firmino has completely changed the threat from Liverpool, it's more alert and quicker on the ball. A deflected shot finished in Kepa's hands.
He then attempts a one-two with Salah but doesn't catch the return ball, one touch and Liverpool would have been in front.

57 mins: Liverpool threaten again with Milner and Salah combing to work the ball into the box. Kante tracks back to win the ball and end the danger for Chelsea. He gives it to Pedro who tries to beat van Dijk but that doesn't end well for him.

60 mins: All square at the hour mark. Chelsea have a corner that Pulisic fires over the heads of everyone in the box.

63 mins: Giroud gets in behind and van Dijk runs back to make the challenge. Both players know Giroud is offside but play on until the flag is eventually raised. To the frustration of both players.
Chelsea however win another corner and the ball almost finds Zouma who runs into the box, jumps but misses the header.

66 mins: Wijnaldum replaces Milner as he brings fresh legs into the Liverpool mid-field. After a shaky start to the second half Chelsea have regained some composure. They've won a few corners but nothing yet has come from them.

69 mins: After a period of keeping hold of the ball, knocking it around their defence Liverpool go forward with Robertson on the left. He puts the ball into the box and Christensen clears it away.
