From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Follow all the action as Leeds United host Arsenal in the Premier League this afternoon.

Marcelo Biela’s side enjoyed a promising start on their return to the top flight, however, back-to-back defeats prior to the international break served a reminder of the challenges to come. Ten points from eight games is hardly disastrous, though, and in Patrick Bamford Leeds boast one of England’s most prolific strikers on current form.

For all Mikel Arteta’s sweeping changes at Arsenal, they are still a side afflicted by wild swings of inconsistency. Their fabulous victory over Manchester United sent spirits sky-rocketing but a horrendous thrashing by Aston Villa proved why Arsenal remain very much a work in progress. They begin the game in 14th place and need a strong series of results to bolster their top four credentials. Follow all the action below live:

Fulham 1 - 1 Everton - De Cordova-Reid

15 mins: GOAL! Fulham are back in it! A one-two between De Cordova-Reid and Cairney gets the Fulham forward into the box and past Yerry Mina. He takes the ball on his right foot and slots it to Pickford’s right to score.

Fulham 0 - 1 Everton

12 mins: A nice give and go down the right wing from Everton gives Iwobi a bit of space out wide. He crosses the ball into the area and Aina doesn’t deal with it. The ball almost falls to Calvert-Lewin but Areola is able to scoop it up before he gets there.

Fulham 0 - 1 Everton - Calvert-Lewin

Fulham are the only side yet to score in the opening 15 minutes of their Premier League games this season.

They have also conceded five times in the opening quarter of an hour, the highest figure in the top flight.

The home side conceded 10 goals in their opening three league matches, but have only let in five in their subsequent five fixtures.

Fulham manager Scott Parker was full of praise for Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti in his pre-game press conference saying:

“Carlo Ancelotti is an incredible coach, his CV and what he’s done in the game as a manager speaks for itself, so it’s not a surprise in any way that he’s gone in at Everton and is doing as well as they are.

“They’ve got a manager there who’s world class. Likewise with their squad of players, there’s some fantastic football players.

“I think they’ve invested and bought very well in the summer. They’ve got a real good strength and balance in terms of what they’re about.”
