Marcelo Biela’s side enjoyed a promising start on their return to the top flight, however, back-to-back defeats prior to the international break served a reminder of the challenges to come. Ten points from eight games is hardly disastrous, though, and in Patrick Bamford Leeds boast one of England’s most prolific strikers on current form.

For all Mikel Arteta’s sweeping changes at Arsenal, they are still a side afflicted by wild swings of inconsistency. Their fabulous victory over Manchester United sent spirits sky-rocketing but a horrendous thrashing by Aston Villa proved why Arsenal remain very much a work in progress. They begin the game in 14th place and need a strong series of results to bolster their top four credentials. Follow all the action below live:

42 mins: How have Everton not scored here? Rodriguez chips the ball into the box for Richarlison, he tries to hit it on the volley but misses. The ball is fumbled away but Calvert-Lewin keeps it alive. It’s worked quickly out ot Digne on the left and he puts in a low cross. Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin are waiting but the pass is behind both of them and finally Fulham clear it.

39 mins: Fulham aren’t giving up but they’re finding it harder to find openings in the final third. Cavaleiro receives the ball and turns on the edge of the box. He hits a shot but it gets blocked. Everton seem to have got their defence in order.

35 mins: GOAL! Everton are smashing it now. Rodriguez flicks the ball out to Digne with the outside of his left foot. Digne sends an easy cross into the middle of the box. Unmarked, Doucoure jumps and heads the ball into the back of the net.

33 mins: Bobby De Cordova-Reid was shown a yellow card after the goal for a tackle on Richarlison in the build up.
Calvert-Lewin has now scored in seven of his nine Premier League appearances for Everton this season.

29 mins: GOAL! This is a beautiful goal. Out on the right Iwobi goes on a fantastic run taking the ball into the box. He squares it to Rodriguez who sends it out to Digne on the left side. He fires it back into the middle and Calvert-Lewin taps it past the goalkeeper to put Everton back in front!

27 mins: Fulham have a go at goal. They work it well across the pitch and into the box. De Cordova-Reid lays the ball off to Aina on the edge of the box. He runs onto a shot but puts it wide of goal.

24 mins: Lucas Digne whips a long curling cross into the box from the left. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the target but Alphonse Areola comes off his line and plucks the ball out of the air.

21 mins: Everton are playing well now. Richarlison goes on a storming run towards the box. He passes it up to Calvert-Lewin who has three defenders to hold off. He does and flicks the ball back to Richarlison as he enters the area. The Brazilian tries to curl one into the bottom right corner but Areola dives across and makes the save.

18 mins: Everton score but Calvert-Lewin is offside. Iwobi gets clear on the right again and he plays a pinpoint pass into the box for Calvert-Lewin. He makes a run between the centre-back but sets off too early but his finish is great. He takes the shot with his first touch and works the ball into the far bottom corner. It’s a pity it won’t count.
