Everton have been one of the form teams in the country so far, winning all six of their matches in all competitions and making it three from three last weekend, in which Dominic Calvert-Lewin continued his goalscoring run before netting a hat-trick in the midweek Carabao Cup victory over West Ham.
Ancelotti does have a number of injury concerns on his hands though, including summer signing Allan, and Brighton will fancy their chances of an upset after resting the bulk of their squad during the week. Follow the live updates below.
45+1 mins: Half-time and it’s goalless at the Bridge. Lots of possession for Chelsea but little created in terms of chances.
Palace have been pinned in their own half and haven’t been allowed to counter attack.
42 mins: Chilwell handles the ball and gives Palace a free kick. Townsend sends it into the box but it is headed back out to the winger. He whips another cross into the back post and Sakho beats Azpilicueta in the air but heads the ball wide.
39 mins: It isn’t the greatest of games. Palace are well drilled defensively and Chelsea are struggling to break them down.
Kouyate intercepts a pass and runs into his teammate Ward. He’s taken a knock but recovers quickly.
36 mins: A Chilwell cross deflects into Hudson-Odoi's path on the edge of the area. He tries to work a bit of space for himself but Ward blocks the shot.
33 mins: Kante drives at the Palace defence and picks out Abraham who in turnplays it to Werner. He’s put under pressure and can't get to the ball.
30 mins: Chelsea are dominating possession. Mendy hasn’t had to make a save yet for the home side, but they themselves aren’t creating many clear chances.
27 mins: Townsend whips Palace’s first corner into the near post and Havertz deals with it by putting it behind for a second one.
Townsend sends the ball deeper this time, Thiago Silva gets a head to the cross, it bounces down and Havertz clears it out of the box.
