From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Scotland will be looking to bounce back against San Marino after their humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of Kazakhstan.
After that shock upset, San Marino will certainly fancy their chances against Alex McLeish's side - despite being the lowest-ranked country in world football and having conceded 37 goals in their last ten matches.
Scotland must now secure a win to keep their hopes of automatically qualifying for Euro 2020 alive.

Netherlands 0-1 Germany
27 minutes
Another opportunity for Babel! Promes' cross is met by the former Liverpool winger, who connects well with a volley from close range. Again, though, he can't find a way past the big frame of Neuer.
GOAL! Northern Ireland 1-0 Belarus (Evans)
30 minutes
Northern Ireland have enjoyed a good spell in this game and now they've taken the lead! The ball is worked to McGinn from a short corner, and he picks out Davis at the near post. The Southampton midfielder flicks on for Jonny Evans, who plants a powerful header into the net.
GOAL! Northern Ireland 1-1 Belarus (Stasevich)
33 minutes
That didn't last long. Belarus level immediately through Stasevic, who cuts inside and hits a shot from distance. It deflects off Dallas and beats a helpless Peacock-Farrell.
GOAL! Netherlands 0-2 Germany (Gnabry)
34 minutes
Brilliant from Gnabry! He cuts in from the left, beats Van Dijk and fires a screamer into the top corner. Unstoppable. The Netherlands must now fight back from 2-0 down.
Netherlands 0-2 Germany
39 minutes
It's very nearly 3-0 as Schulz, playing at left wing back, crosses for Kehrer of PSG, who is occupying the other flank. The latter's header is too close to the goalkeeper, but the Dutch are really struggling to deal with Germany in wide areas.
Netherlands 0-2 Germany
40 minutes
Now Sane goes close. He races in behind the Netherlands defence and hits a low right-footed shot. Cillessen does well to save low to his right.
Northern Ireland 1-1 Belarus
43 minutes
Northern Ireland are toiling away in Belfast, looking to restore their lead before the break. Jordan Jones beats two Belarus defenders on the left and drills an inviting cross into the box. But there's too much on it for Lafferty.
Half time: It's half time at Windsor Park, where Northern Ireland have been frustrated by a dogged Belarus side. They led through Jonny Evans but were pegged back minutes later when Stasevic found the net. It's proving to be a difficult test for Michael O'Neill's side.
Half time: No danger of Germany being booed off tonight. They've been superb in Amsterdam, creating chance after chance against a Dutch side that had been in imperious form. Low has got his tactics spot on. Koeman, meanwhile, will need to change things at half time.
