Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Scotland will be looking to bounce back against San Marino after their humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of Kazakhstan.

After that shock upset, San Marino will certainly fancy their chances against Alex McLeish's side - despite being the lowest-ranked country in world football and having conceded 37 goals in their last ten matches.

Scotland must now secure a win to keep their hopes of automatically qualifying for Euro 2020 alive.

We're back underway in Belfast and Amsterdam!

GOAL! Netherlands 1-2 Germany (de Ligt)

48 minutes

The perfect start to the second half for the Dutch! A short corner is worked to Depay, who whips an excellent cross into the box. De Ligt rises highest and glances a header past Neuer. The Netherlands are back in it.

Netherlands 1-2 Germany

52 minutes

It's all one-way traffic in Amsterdam now. Germany, who surrendered a two-goal lead against the Netherlands in the Nations League, are rattled and look uncomfortable at the back.

Northern Ireland 1-1 Belarus

52 minutes

Lafferty goes close for Northern Ireland, watching as his effort is parried away by a stretching Kilmovich. Belarus still have a threat at the other end, though, and this feels like a game that could go either way.

Northern Ireland 1-1 Belarus

60 minutes

The home side are starting to turn the screw now. A powerful shot from Paddy McNair is well blocked and then George Saville hits one over the bar moments later. Northern Ireland look the most likely scorers at the moment.

Netherlands 1-2 Germany

62 minutes

The Netherlands have been much, much better since the break and could have been level by now. Germany are sitting deeper and inviting pressure.

GOAL! Netherlands 2-2 Germany (Depay)

63 minutes

The comeback is completed! Depay finds himself in the box, surrounded by white shirts, but he squirms away from all of them, working enough space to guide a low shot into the bottom corner. This is a different Dutch team to the one that looked down and out in the first half.

Netherlands 2-2 Germany

69 minutes

Germany are all over the place at the back. A Netherlands corner results in an almighty scramble in the middle of the box, which eventually leads to a Wijnaldum shot. His effort is blocked, but there's only one team looking like scoring a third goal here.

Callum Rice-Coates24 March 2019 21:12

Northern Ireland 1-1 Belarus

71 minutes

Lafferty goes close again, hooking an effort over the bar after a long throw-in from Josh Magennis caused problems in the Belarus box. Northern Ireland have a little under 20 minutes to find a winner.

Elsewhere

Robert Lewandowski has given Poland the lead with 76 minutes gone against Latvia. A win will take the Poles to the top of Group G as things stand.
