In a final that pits Jose Mourinho up against rival Antonio Conte, both managers know that defeat will leave them trophy-less this season – and for the latter that could prove to be the end of his reign at Stamford Bridge. Conte is expected to leave Chelsea at the end of the season, although there is hope that an FA Cup final triumph could yet keep him at the club.
For United, finishing the Premier League season 19 points behind Manchester City has been particularly embarrassing, and having failed to win the Champions League or EFL Cup, Mourinho will be desperate to add to his extensive trophy collection with the FA Cup.

25: While a lot of the talk will be about how bad Manchester United have started, and that is wholly accurate, it is worth noting how well Antonio Conte has set up his Chelsea side. They have so much better in every single department. Manchester United need a leader on the pitch to sort this out.
26: Paul Pogba wins a free kick on the right which Alexis Sanchez is standing over. He rolls the ball across the edge of the box to Ander Herrera who shoots first time and completely mis-hits his effort. That about sums up Mancester United's start.
Eden Hazard goes down under the challenge of Phil Jones in the box, then scores from the spot to give Chelsea a deserved lead.
31: Manchester United appear to have dusted themselves down a bit and are trying to get back into the game. Paul Pogba hits a low effort from range wide and Alexis Sanchez fires over. United are making Chelsea defend but are, as yet, causing no problems.
34: Alexis Sanchez catches Tiemoue Bakayoko with a lazy tackle on the edge of the box. Cesc Fabregas lines up a centre-right free kick around 25 yards from goal and strikes the wall.
38: Manchester United are continually giving the ball away in sloppy places and are struggling to win it back. The frustration is telling as Jesse Lingard trips Eden Hazard then gives Micheal Oliver an earful. United need half time!
40: Manchester United are getting really frustrated now as Ashley Young fumes at the assistant referee after he thinks Tiemoue Bakayoko runs the ball out.
Jose Mourinho is not giving his emotions away on his face, but my word, he will be fuming on the inside. Oh to be a fly-on-the-wall in that Manchester United dressing room at half time.
44: Victor Moses fouls Ashley Young who touches the ball beyond the Chelsea defender then hits the deck.
Marcus Rashford opts for power with his cross on the left and wins a corner after he blasts an effort off the wall. Chelsea deal with the first ball in but Ashley Young recycles a cross to the back post where Phil Jones headers just wide.
