43 mins: Good pressing from Lamptey sees him block Antonio Rudiger’s forward ball out for a Chelsea throw in deep in their own half.

Chance! The ball is played up to Ziyech who attempts to pass it across to Hudson-Odoi. Brighton intercept the pass but Lukaku gets it back and feeds it into the box for the wingback. Mount makes a run into the middle of the box and wants the ball but Hudson-Odoi shoots and sends it over the crossbar!

41 mins: Chance! Cucurella sends the ball up to Welbeck who takes it into the box. He drives at Azpilicueta before cutting inside and creating an angle to shoot. He fires a right-footed effort at goal but doesn’t catch it well and hoofs it over the goal.

38 mins: Gross picks out Moder in the box but he chooses to pass the ball backwards instead of taking a shot. The Seagulls come again with Cucurella played in down the left. He slots a cross towards the far side of the box but Lamptey leaps too early and can’t get a head to the ball.

35 mins: Chelsea burst forward on a counter-attack with Kante driving them forward. Mount sprints down the inside left but Kante’s pass across it too far out of reach and the ball rolls out for a Brighton throw in.

32 mins: Brighton respond by winning a free kick and whipping it into the box. Thiago Silva wins the initial header and Kepa Arrizabalaga comes out to claim the second ball.

28 mins: Where has this come from?! Chelsea take the lead through Hakim Ziyech’s shot from outside the box. N’Golo Kante takes the ball into the penalty area and cuts it back to Ziyech. He comes inside and sets himself up for a left-footed strike. There’s a deflection off Alexis MacAllister and the ball sneaks past Robert Sanchez’s outstretched hand to finish in the bottom corner! Chelsea lead.

27 mins: Chance! Steven Alzate is given the ball in the middle of the pitch and turns it towards the Chelsea goal. He gets a signal from Welbeck and chips it over the Chelsea defence as the striker makes a run into the box. The ball bounces up for him to shoot but he gets it all wrong and misses the ball, letting it roll behind for a goal kick.

24 mins: Brighton are the team pushing forward in the opposition’s half. They’re trying to work the ball out wide to Lamptey and Cucurella but Chelsea are compact making it difficult to play through and around.

Welbeck is sent the ball as he comes out wide but Azpilicueta is quickly on top of him and boots the ball out for a throw in.

21 mins: Tariq Lamptey intercepts a pass then breaks through the middle, and evades an attempted tackle from Jorginho. He plays it out wide but the Brighton attack comes to nothing.
