Brighton vs Chelsea LIVE: Premier League result and final score tonight after Adam Webster goal earns point

15 mins: Chance! Jorginho flicks the ball up to Lukaku who bursts through the inside right channel and takes the ball into the box. He pulls it back to Azpilicueta who shoots and forces Sanchez into a pretty nonchalant save.

Chelsea’s corner gets swung into the box but Veltman is up high to head it away.

12 mins: Cucurella’s early pass into the box for Welbeck doesn’t come off and Kepa Arrizabalaga is quickly off his line to scoop up the loose ball.

Brighton have started well, they’re solid in defence and are getting the ball into some good areas in Chelsea’s half. The Blues look a little tired, they haven’t got out of first gear yet.

9 mins: Ziyech attempts another left-footed cross into the opposite side of the box but Mason Mount checks his run as Joel Veltman has the cross covered.

Brighton attack down the left wing before playing it inside to Gross. He threads a first time pass into the box to set up Welbeck but the striker can’t bring the ball under control and it runs out of play.

6 mins: Callum Hudson-Odoi drives down the right side and carries the ball into Brighton’s final third. He gets some help from an overlapping run by Cesar Azpilicueta. Chelsea’s captain passes it inside to Hakim Ziyech whose cross into the box is poor and gets headed clear by Dan Burn.

3 mins: Chance! Tariq Lamptey flicks a cross into the box from the right but Thiago Silva is there to clear the ball. It doesn’t get far as Steven Alzate recovers it for Brighton. He feeds it up to Danny Welbeck who backheels the ball to Jakub Moder on the edge of the box. He sets it onto his left-foot and guides a shot towards the bottom left corner but sends the chance narrowly wide of goal!

Kick off: Chelsea kick off the match but a long ball is won by Pascal Gross who sends it over to Marc Cucurella on the left wing. He carries the ball into Chelsea’s half but is forced to retreat and the ball is sent all the way back to Robert Sanchez in goal.

Here come the teams. Cesar Azpilicueta leads out Chelsea. Kepa Arrizabalaga is once again in goal with Edouard Mendy at the Africa Cup of Nations. He’ll want to get a clean sheet under his belt.

Adam Webster captains Brighton. There’s a good atmosphere around the Amex Stadium, the Seagulls are in good form, can they take some points away from Chelsea tonight?

Brighton boss, Graham Potter spoke to BT Sport before kick off to talk about what he expects from tonight’s game. He said:

Since Thomas Tuchel took charge of Chelsea, the Blues have only conceded an average of 0.6 goals per game (41 in 65) and have kept a clean sheet in 54% of their outings (35/65); both the best figures of any team across the big five European leagues in this period.

With just over 10 minutes to go until kick off, the warm-ups are done at the Amex Stadium. Chelsea will move back into second place if they can beat the Seagulls this evening whilst Brighton can draw level on points with Wolves in eighth place.
