From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao delivered a dominant performance to earn a unanimous decision victory over Adrien Broner on Saturday in Las Vegas.

The 40-year-old Filipino multiple world champion was quicker and more accurate as he controlled each round and cruised to the triumph over Broner, 29, who fought gamely and stayed upright despite being hit with several heavy combinations.

Retired great Floyd Mayweather attended the fight, fueling speculation of a rematch against Pacquiao. Undefeated Mayweather beat Pacquiao in 2015.

Marcus Browne:

I want to give all glory to God. I want to thank Al Haymon, I want to thank Showtime and I want to that Badou Jack for giving me the opportunity. He thought he was going to drown me late but I came in shape.

All you boys [at light-heavyweight] in trouble. Teddy Atlas, you think you got the best light-heavyweight? Gvodzyk let's go!

The national anthems are being sung, the fighters are waiting in the corridors of the MGM Grand, it's almost time.

Adrien Broner is making his way to the ring. It is...as extravagant as you might imagine

Tom Kershaw20 January 2019 05:35

A lot of glowsticks and luminous glasses but there Broner is and he's loving it. A wide smile as he enters the ring.

Tom Kershaw20 January 2019 05:36

And now it's time for Manny Pacquiao to make his way to the ring.

Tom Kershaw20 January 2019 05:38

Headband on, Eye of the Tiger blaring out, Pacquiao is jogging towards the ring in light steps. He too is soaking in the atmosphere at the MGM Grand. We're just moments away from the first bell.
