The 40-year-old Filipino multiple world champion was quicker and more accurate as he controlled each round and cruised to the triumph over Broner, 29, who fought gamely and stayed upright despite being hit with several heavy combinations.
Retired great Floyd Mayweather attended the fight, fueling speculation of a rematch against Pacquiao. Undefeated Mayweather beat Pacquiao in 2015.

A big cut opens up on Jack's forehead after an accidental clash of heads. The doctor takes a look but it's in the centre and the blood is not obscuring his vision. Moments later, Browne is docked a point for incessant holding. Nevertheless, you feel Jack needs the knockout now.
RD 8:
Another big round for Browne. Jack just appears to have no answer and the blood spilling from the cut is getting increasingly worse. "He's wearing a crimson mask," the commentary team says as Jack paws at his eye to clear his vision.
RD 9:
This fight is only going one way as long as Browne doesn't deplete his tank. Jack's vision is obscured, he's wary of opening up to attack because he can't see Browne's heavy power punches coming and it's another round gone. Jack needs to win by knockout now, and it's very hard to see how that'll come in these circumstances.
RD 10:
Jack comes out with intent and lands a nice uppercut on Browne but when the pair maul on the ropes he can't find the space to wing in his punches. Browne is becoming more cautious, doing just enough to keep Jack out of kilter. He knows he's just six minutes away from the biggest victory of his career.
RD 11:
The gash on Jack's face has opened up deeper after another clash of heads and it's really gushing now. It's terrible. Jack's insisting he's able to continue. The doctor takes a look and they carry on the round.
RD 11:
It's uncomfortable to watch Jack now. Paulie Malignaggi thinks the fight should have been stopped. Jack's trainer is calling him to go into 'Tyson mode'. It's the twelfth and final round.
FINAL BELL
There's a momentary blackout in the twelfth round as the lights go out in the arena. Quickly, though, they return and Jack continues in desperation but it's not going to be enough. Browne is intent on just surviving this round. Jack never got going in this fight and showed all his 35 years of age.
