Over the past few months, it seems that the go-to method for helping us get through lockdown has been to sniff out soothing scents, with research group Kantar reporting that sales of candles, potpourri and essential oils for diffusers increased by 29 per cent in October alone.

According to Marks & Spencer, online searches for candles and bath products at the store are up by more than 100 per cent, with the retailer’s own-brand, three-wick candles proving particularly popular.
While there is a huge range of scented candles up for grabs at M&S, one has quickly become a bestseller during lockdown 3.0, with some customers praising its “divine” fragrance and others hailing it as “incredible value for money”.

Scent can have quite a powerful effect on our mood, so it’s no surprise that many have invested in candles designed to help you chill out during lockdown.
M&S’s "calm" candle is part of its existing apothecary range, which features home and beauty products made with luxury blends of essential oils to help you relax from head to toe.
This particular fragrance projects lavender, sweet orange, clary sage and cedarwood throughout your home, and is housed in a chic amber-coloured glass holder.
Costing just £29.50, it is the largest candle on offer in the M&S range and offers an impressive 80 hours of burn time.
Customers who have already purchased the candle have praised it for being good value for money and smelling “amazing”.
“I’m absolutely thrilled with this candle. The fragrance is amazing – so calming and a wonderful blend of oils. The holder is very attractive and it is incredible value for money,” said one buyer. Another added: “I bought this as a statement piece as thought it looked nice, but it also burns great and smells divine! A great purchase and will be buying again.”
The good news is that the candle also comes in two smaller sizes, a single version that costs £7.50 and a large version priced at £15, while the scent can be purchased as part of a scented oil burner set (£12.50) and a heavenly hand wash (£5).
