Note: Jolyon Palmer did not set a time due to damage sustained by his car in Practice 3, he will start the race from pit lane.
Lap 29: Vettel finally gets the call to pit after making it 29 laps of the softs tyres. The only problem is that he stays out, despite the tyres being taken out of the blankets in anticipation of his arrival. Strange one, that.
Lap 33: Vettel finally pits and puts on the mediums, but he comes out just behind his Ferrari teammate. Raikkonen meanwhile is complaining that there is no grip whatsoever on these current tyres, and the problem for him is he needs to go to the end of the race.
Lap 35: Verstappen is still reeling in Rosberg to just 1.7 seconds, while Rosberg is also catching Rosberg slightly, though the gap is still 4.2 seconds.
Lap 38: Ricciardo gets a message to tell him it's clouding over a touch and as a result, the temperature has dropped. That'll help his tyres last longer, and with the Australian trying to go 70 laps on the mediums, he needs every bit of help.
Lap 40: Another big cheer goes up as Perez shows his nose into turn one, but Massa just has it covered and the expectant crowd will have to wait at least another lap.
Lap 41: Rosberg gas the lead gap under four seconds for the first time since the safety car period ended and Hamilton made a break for it. Verstappen's still within touching distance of the championship leader, but he's not yet got himself into DRS range.
Lap 42: Rosberg's being held up here as he tries to negotiate his way past Magnussen. He finally gets by on the main straight, but Verstappen now has DRS and also gets past on the second straight.
Lap 44: Another fastest lap for Rosberg, and he's still catching Hamilton out on front and taking Verstappen with him. Nasr, by the way, is still out there on the medium tyres and has not stopped yet, although he's got his Sauber teammate right behind him in the form of Ericsson who has served his pit stop and is in contention for Sauber's first points of the season.
