Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Follow the latest updates live from the final day at the Isle of Man TT as the blue-riband Senior TT takes place to wrap up the week’s action.

A bumper day of racing on Thursday saw Peter Hickman take his win tally to five TT’s as he claimed both the second supersport race and the Superstock TT, the latter in dominant fashion. Michael Dunlop registered his 19th TT victory by winning the Lightweight race with Michael Rutter claiming the spoils in the TT Zero, while the Birchall brothers Ben and Tom claimed seventh consecutive sidecar race.

But today is all about the Senior TT where Hickman will bid to become just the third man to win four TT races in a week, with Dean Harrison, Conor Cummins and Dunlop out to stop him. Follow the live updates below.

What time does it start?

Friday’s Isle of Man TT gets underway at 10am.

How can I follow it?

Races are not shown live from the TT, so the best way to follow the action as it happens is with local radio or The Independent’s live blog throughout the event. Radio coverage is provided by Manx Radio over the fortnight, while live timing is available through the official www.iomttraces.com website.

Schedule

10am: Senior TT

Lap 4: Hillier has overtaken Rutter to move up to sixth on corrected time at Ramsey as he continues his recovery ride.

Hickman returns fire against Harrison, adding three seconds to the lead to the Bunaglow as the gap stretches to 15.260s.

Dunlop Senior TT

Lap 4: Harrison heads for the pits for the second and final time, and he should be away again before Hickman comes into view.

Lap 4: It's another 133mph lap for Harrison! You can't say he's not trying!

Dunlop Senior TT

Lap 4: Cummins is next into the pits nearly 40 seconds off Harrison, and he leaves just as Hickman arrives. It's 133,55mph for Hickman and the lead is out to 17.683s!

Dunlop Senior TT

Lap 5: Into lap five we go and interestingly Hickman was faster than Harrison in the pits again, making 1.6s on his rival during the second stops. So far it's the fastest stop from the Smiths Racing boys - that is until the Bathams Racing team turn Michael Rutter around four seconds faster! That's a cracking top there. Todd and Coward are confirmed in fifth and eighth as they come into the pits.

Dunlop Senior TT

Lap 5: So it looks like Harrison is definitely going to get traffic on this lap, with four riders about two minutes ahead of him at Glen Helen. If they're fast enough they could make the pits before Harrison catches them.

Woah! Harrison's taken 12 seconds out of Hickman's lead! It's down to 7.915s!

Jack de Menezes7 June 2019 11:31

Dunlop Senior TT

Lap 5: Well this just got even more interesting than it already was! Hickman must have either had a problem or run on at one of the tight corners, perhaps Ballacraine or Douglas Road Corner?

Jack de Menezes7 June 2019 11:33

Dunlop Senior TT

Lap 5: Hickman has a problem! The gap is 1.130s at Ballaugh!

Jack de Menezes7 June 2019 11:34

Dunlop Senior TT

Lap 5: Hickman's had trouble with the superbike throughout the TT, with the big BMW losing water and overheating that caused two retirements in qualifying. But he was forced to run it as scrutineers stripped down hos superstocker last night following his victory. What's the time at Ramsey?

HARRISON LEADS!
