Manchester United are on the verge of completing their third signing of the window after the club agreed an £80m fee with Leicester City for Harry Maguire.

Arsenal may also add to their squad today after beating Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool to signing Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos on loan. PSG are set to offer Kylian Mbappé a new contract which would make him the second-highest earner in world football, according to El Paise (via Sport).

It is being reported that Neymar's departure from the French Champions is almost a certainty, and as a result, they are able to offer Mbappé a lucrative deal that would make him the highest paid player in the club's history. 

PSG officials fear that Manchester City may soon look to make a bid for Mbappe and are eager to tie his future down as soon as possible to make an exit from the Parc des Princes incredibly unlikely.

Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea, has said that he wants to be the club's captain and is on the verge of signing a new contract.

United’s first-choice goalkeeper is said to have agreed a new five-year deal at Old Trafford, with the option of an additional 12 months, and wants to be the leader in the dressing room for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s new-look side

“I’ve been captain for some games,” said De Gea. “It’s amazing to be captain of a club like Manchester United and defend this badge.''

17-year-old Leighton Clarkson has signed his first professional contract with Liverpool, the club has announced.

Clarkson has been with the club since the age of nine and was a regular for both the U18s and U19s in the UEFA Youth League last season.

Ivan Rakitić has made his intentions clear as he says he wants to stay at Barcelona this coming season.

The Croatian had been linked with a move away, including to Manchester United, but he says his sole focus is with the Catalan giants.

''My plan is to continue with Barcelona," Rakitic said.

"I talked to the club and the coach, but my intention is very clear. I want to continue and continue enjoying my football because I have more years left on my contract.

"It doesn't interest me to talk about my future, but I understand that football works in this way. In a way, I'm proud that other teams ask about me because it means I'm doing the right things.

"The only thing I see is Barcelona, everything else has to be taken calmly.''

Ethan Ampadu has joined German side RB Leipzig on a season-long loan, Chelsea have confirmed.

Manager Frank Lampard said last week that he was looking to send the 18-year-old out on loan in order to increase his first team minutes, as his chances have been limited at Stamford Bridge.

Leipzig finished third in the Bundesliga last season.

Manchester City are close to signing 18-year-old, Thiago Almada, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The Argentinian midfielder has been dubbed the ''new Messi''  and currently plays for Argentinian side Velez Sarsfield.

The deal is thought to be worth £16 million, with the player expected to be immediately loaned out should the transfer be completed.
