Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Relive all the action from the final day at The Masters where Tiger Woods has won his first major in 11 years to complete one of the greatest comebacks sport has ever seen.

Woods went into the opening day two shots off overnight leader Francesco Molinari, with the Italian sitting clear on -13. But as the reigning Open champion wilted under the pressure of leading at Augusta, Woods surged into the lead to move clear on -14 with two holes to play. Despite the chasing pack of Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele and Brroks Koepka all reaching the clubhouse on -12, there was no stopping Woods.

Waling up the 18th to one of the biggest ovations Augusta has ever witnessed, Woods saw playing partners Molinari and Tony Finau whole out to complete their strong performances, and despite failing to make par on the last to drop to -13, he sealed possibly the most incredible victory seen at The Masters. Follow the live reaction below.

Finau (-11) and Woods (-11) tidy up the first, each with a par. An intriguing first hole that one and there's 17 left to go.

Michael Jones14 April 2019 14:36

Schauffele (-10) birdies the par-5 second to move within three of Molinari.

Webb Simpson (-9) shouts "Fore right" as he approaches the green but he doesn't reach the patrons and has a tricky chip into the green left.

Michael Jones14 April 2019 14:38

Birdie, par, par for Oosthuizen (-9) thru 3.

Molinari's (-13) drive on the second pulls up short of the bunker to the right, Finau (-11) hits his past the bunker and Tiger (-11) catches the trees to the left.

Michael Jones14 April 2019 14:40

Oh Phil!

His second shot on the fifth finishes a centimetre from the hole and he'll go back to (-7) with that gimme birdie.

Michael Jones14 April 2019 14:41

Leader Board update: Leader -13

Molinari -13 (1)

Finau -11 (1)

Woods -11 (1)

Koepka -10 (1)

Schauffele -10 (2)

Michael Jones14 April 2019 14:45

A bogey for Poulter (-8) on the second. Koepka (-11) makes birdie and Simpson (-9) settles for a par.

Michael Jones14 April 2019 14:47

Woods (-11) gets out of the trees and lays up on the fairway, before finding the front edge of the green with his third.

Molinari (-13) hits his second down the left side of the fairway to open up the green for his third and Finau (-11) leaves his second short of the right-side bunker.

Michael Jones14 April 2019 14:49

DJ (-7) and Cantlay (-7) drop shots on the third and fourth respectively. Speith and Day drop back to (-6).

Michael Jones14 April 2019 14:51

Molinari (-13) has the chance to move to 14-under with a birdie putt on the second. Finau's (-11) chip over the bunker gives him a chance too but neither putt is guaranteed.

Michael Jones14 April 2019 14:54

A mistake on the third puts an end to Schauffele's (-9) flying start and he drops a shot.

On the first, after a bit of consideration, Tiger (-11) rolls a long winding putt up close to the hole and will have about 5/6ft for par.
