From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

New Zealand are into the World Cup final after a thrilling win over India.

The Kiwis posted 239 following Tuesday's rain delay and looked destined to cruise home when they removed Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli with the new ball. But a brilliant fightback from Ravi Jadeja and MS Dhoni saw India roar back into it before Trent Boult's saw off Jadeja before Dhoni was run out in dramatic fashion at the death.

New Zealand will now face either England or Australia in Sunday's showpiece.

A first bowling change. Lockie Ferguson has been New Zealand's best bowler so far in the tournament...

And a dropped catch from his first ball! It's Jimmy Neesham!

It's a simple one, too. Pant flicks aerially right at Neesham in relatively tight at midwicket, and Neesham gets two hands to it at rib height, but it doesn't stick.

Pant gets a life.

12.1 - India 36-4, H Pandya 4, R Pant 19, Lockie Ferguson 0-1 (0.1)

13.0 - India 37-4, H Pandya 5, R Pant 19, L Ferguson 0-2 (1)

A lively first over from Ferguson. This isn't the quickest pitch but there's enough pace in it for him to zip the ball through.

Henry continues, now into his 7th.

14.0 - India 42-4, H Pandya 9, R Pant 19, M Henry 3-23 (7)

A very elegant back foot drive from Hardik Pandya, a hint of a wristy flourish as he places the ball through the offside ring to pick up four. Five from the over.

15.0 - India 43-4, H Pandya 9, R Pant 20, L Ferguson 0-3 (2)

Circumspection the order of the moment, generally. A lone single from Ferguson's second set of six.

And it's time for a much needed drinks break, with India battling to stay in this contest.

New Zealand do have at least 20 overs of Santner/Neesham/de Grandhomme to get through, of course. You sense if Pant and Pandya can get themselves going this is still very much on with Dhoni withheld to shepherd things home later on.

Speaking of which, here are the burly trundlings of Colin de Grandhomme, with Tom Latham up to the stumps.

16.0 - India 47-4, H Pandya 10, R Pant 23, Colin de Grandhomme 0-4 (1)

More fielding excellence from New Zealand, Martin Guptill leaping to his left to palm a fierce cut shot from Pant and save three runs.

Pandya takes a single from the last ball and keeps the strike.

16.1 - India 48-4, H Pandya 11, R Pant 23, L Ferguson 0-4 (2.1)

Unlucky Lockie!

A quick short ball, 91mph, and Pandya pulls, recognising the opportunity to score but too late with the extra gas that Ferguson provides, and very, very fortunate that the ball tumbles down just beyond the midwicket fielder with mid-on also in close proximity.
