It will take time for cricket community to accept David Warner and Steve Smith back, says England's Eoin Morgan

England's faltering World Cup campaign veered further off track as old rivals Australia booked their place in the semi-finals with a 64-run victory at Lord's.

After misadventures against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, England ran aground when chasing for the third time in the tournament, dismissed for an error-strewn 221.

With India and New Zealand still to play, there is now minimal leeway if the world's number one side are to reach the semi-finals of their own competition.

17.3 - Australia 96-0, A Finch 48, D Warner 43, A Rashid 0-6 (0.3)

A poor ball, a rank long-hop that barely gets above hip height and Warner crouches down to swivel on the pull past squarely for four...

18.0 - Australia 100-0, A Finch 48, D Warner 47, A Rashid 0-10 (1)

A delightful drive bisects the two men in the circle on the off-side and Warner brings up the Australia 100 with another sweetly timed boundary.

50 for Aaron Finch! 61 balls, 9x4, 0x6

An well-compiled 50 from the Australia captain, surviving a testing first ten overs and building nicely since.

He gets to the mark with a big heave to cow corner off Moeen that isn't timed but falls safely in a big gap beyond long-on.

19.0 - Australia 106-0, A Finch 52, D Warner 49, Moeen Ali 0-13 (2)

Warner moves to within one of his own half century from the last ball of Moeen's second over, which adds six more to the Australia total.

And gets there from the first of Rashid's second! 50 from 52 balls, 6x4, 0x6

A scampered single down the ground and another half-century for David Warner. Australia very much in control.

A few boos, but a relatively polite reception as Warner signals to the balconies.

20.0 - Australia 110-0, A Finch 54, D Warner 51, A Rashid 0-14 (2)

A much better over from Rashid, however, giving the ball a bit of flight and hitting a consistent length. Not much in the way of turn, though.

21.0 - Australia 112-0, A Finch 55, D Warner 52, Moeen Ali 0-15 (3)

Good from Moeen Ali, getting through his deliveries quickly and conceding just two from that over.

Harry Latham-Coyle25 June 2019 11:59

The tournament's leading run-scorer, David Warner has again crossed 50.

Harry Latham-Coyle25 June 2019 12:00

22.0 - Australia 114-0, A Finch 56, D Warner 53, A Rashid 0-16 (3)

A nudged single gets Warner to 500 tournament runs before Aaron Finch miscues a booming slog sweep to deep midwicket.

But that's good again from Rashid. England starting to regain control behind their spinners, although Australia look very comfortable with all ten wickets still in hand.

Harry Latham-Coyle25 June 2019 12:03

22.2 - Australia 122-0, A Finch 64, D Warner 53, Moeen Ali 0-23 (3.2)

Matter of time - a thump over midwicket for the first maximum of the day!

Too full from Moeen, a bit of flight and Aaron Finch says to hell with caution, sending the off-spinner away over the short square boundary.
