From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. The tee times for the final day at The Open have been moved forward by around an hour to avoid bad weather conditions, which are due to hit Northern Ireland's Royal Portrush course late in the evening.

The final group, which is currently set to be made up of Shane Lowry and Tommy Fleetwood as they lead the way on -13 and -12 respectively, will take to the course at 1:47pm on Sunday afternoon.

The tee-off is an hour earlier than last year's final round at Carnoustie, and two hours earlier than when Lowry and JB Holmes started their third round on Saturday.

"Sunday tee times have been moved forward due to the adverse weather forecast," tournament organisers the R&A tweeted.

"The first tee time will be at 7:32am with the leaders beginning their final round at 1:47pm."

It is the second time this year that the final round of a major has been affected by weather, following the early finish to The Masters last April when Tiger Woods secured his 15th career major victory.

On that occasion, heavy thunderstorms expected in the afternoon lead to organisers deciding on a two-tee start and threesomes instead of pairings, though players will remain in twos at The Open and it has been decided that there is enough time for all groups to tee off from the first hole as planned.

14th hole

Tommy is staring down the barrel of a bogey as his third shot falls away to the right of the green, Lowry (-15) will have a difficult but doable putt for par.

16th hole

Fowler (-6) follows up his birdie on 15 with a glorious tee shot to the middle of the 16th green.

14th hole

Lowry keeps the game interesting by leaving his par putt short and making a bogey to go to (-14). Fleetwood (-9) needs to sink this one, but doesn't. It kisses the right edge and rolls by. Double bogey for Tommy and surely the Claret Jug is heading to Shane Lowry.

15th hole

Brooks Koepka (-7) shoots back up the leaderboard with a birdie on the 15th. He's tied in third with Tony Finau which would be his lowest finish in major tournaments this year.

16th hole

Rickie Fowler has a chance to join them at 7-under but misses the birdie putt. A par on 16 keeps him a (-6).

A horror show of a round for JB Holmes doesn't just affect him, his partner Brooks Koepka isn't best pleased at the rate that JB's been zigzagging the course:

15th hole

Fleetwood (-9) has a resigned look about him as he pitches his second into the 15th. Lowry (-14) played first and put it close but Fleetwood doesn't get inside of his ball.

18th hole

John Rahm finishes his round of 75 with a birdie on the last. It's been hard work out their today and Rahm looks happy that it's over. His playing partner Tony Finau makes it home with a level par round of 71, exceptional in these conditions. He sits third on the leaderboard at (-7).

15th hole

The resistance of Tommy Fleetwood (-9) is over. His leaves his birdie short of the hole and can only make par. In response Shane Lowry (-15) holes his birdie putt, to great cheer from the crowd, and he knows that he's a step closer to the Claret Jug.

16th hole

The pressure has all but left Shane Lowry (-15) he aims left where it's safer on Calamity Corner and reaches the front edge of the green. Fleetwood (-9) reaches the edge too but the one on the left side of the putting surface. Six shots in front with two and a half to play.
