From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Wrestlemania returned for the 35th time this weekend.

Former UFC champion Rousey took on Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in a winner takes all triple threat match for the WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown Women’s Championships, while Brock Lesnar defended his WWE Universal Championship against Seth Rollins.

BECKY LYNCH WINS!

BREAKING: BECKY LYNCH WINS RAW & SMACKDOWN WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIPS

It's a curious ending. Out of nowhere, Rousey nails a Piper's Pit on Lynch who reverses her pin attempt and rolls her up for a three count!

Rousey seemed to be protesting about the pinfall, almost to suggest a shoulder was up.

It seems as though WWE will go down the route of Rousey stating she was wronged at the conclusion of this match and blame some type of controversy. That would protect her moving forward, but history will note Lynch's victory, and it's the ending many in New Jersey wanted.

That's it from New Jersey.

Who'd have thought we'd see all three of Seth Rollins, Kofi Kingston and Becky Lynch all get their happy endings?

Proof if you needed it that we can, sometimes, have nice things!

After more than seven-and-a-half hours, that's it from me. Thanks for joining me for live coverage of a great Wrestlemania.

You can stay tuned to The Independent's website and social media for a full recap of the event and more.
