The Miz vs Sami Zayn
It's time for some Intercontinental Championship action, and her comes the champ! The Miz walks out alongside his wife, Maryse, and of course he needs to win to keep the title on Smackdown, having taken it off Dolph Ziggler last week. Here comes crowd favourite and Canadian native Sami Zayn!
The Miz vs Sami Zayn
Lovely stuff, WWE take the time to remind us that there's the Spanish and German announcers at ringside, meaning we've got THREE tables for someone to go through at some point. Let's hope it's Ellsworth. Anyway, Sami Zayn gets a huge reception as he's introduced to the crowd, while Miz is roundly booed once again. Here we go.
The Miz vs Sami Zayn
Zayn brings the match to life as he catches Miz with a headkick, but Miz quickly gets out of the firing line by rolling out of the ring. Zayn goes to the leap over the top rope, but he quickly aborts as Miz runs away. Zayn quickly gets his man though as he runs up the barricade and backflips onto Miz. Maryse tries to get in Zayn's faces, but while he waves her off by performing her own gimmick, Miz quickly takes Zayn down to get control of the match.
The Miz vs Sami Zayn
Again, Zayn tries to jump out of the ring, but Miz sweeps his legs away and throws him knee first into the ring post. Miz gets a two-count, but Zyan fights out of the pin. Miz is going for the figure four, but Zayn kicks his way out of it, the the two trade punches. Miz kicks Zayn's legs away, but eats a big clothesline as Zayn explodes to his feet.
The Miz vs Sami Zayn
There it is! Zayn finally gets it right and leaps over the top rope and out onto Miz with a front flip just for good measure. Zayn gets a big body slam and goes for the pin, but it's good for two only.
The Miz vs Sami Zayn
Miz goes for the figure four but it's countered into a pin by Zayn. Only good for two, and this time Miz take Sami down and pins him. One, two, kick-out! Both get near falls, but Zayn is struggling with a leg injury and is in the corner, Miz delivers three running drop kicks in the corner, before finishing with a running clothesline. He jumps off the top rope, but it's countered. Blue Thunder Bomb!
Zayn goes for the pin. Two! so close for Zayn.
The Miz vs Sami Zayn
Zayn nails the Exploder Suplex into the turnbuckle and lines up the Helluva Kick. Miz dodges it though and gets hung up on the rope. Miz gets the Figure Four locked in for over a minute, but Zayn rolls over a transfer the move. He eventually gets to the ropes and breaks the submission.
The Miz vs Sami Zayn
Miz rattles off a number of chest kicks to shades of Daniel Bryan, but Zayn avoids the last one and lock in a Figure Four himself! Will Miz tap? The bell goes, but Miz hasn't tapped! Maryse has the ring bell an Zayn thinks he's won! Miz goes for the schoolboy roll-up and with Zayn not realising that the match is still going, he gets the pin!
The Miz beats Sami Zayn!
The Miz vs Sami Zayn
It's a win apiece for Raw and Smackdown as Miz get the W for Team Blue. Zayn looks gutted in the ring, and it's fair to say he wants answers over what happened.
