West Ham vs Liverpool LIVE: Premier League result and final score as Reds slump continues in title race blow
West Ham 2-2 Liverpool: Michail Antonio found a late equaliser for the hosts as Jurgen Klopp’s side dropped more points in the title race
Liverpool’s slim Premier League title hopes faded further on Saturday when Michail Antonio’s late header earned West Ham a deserved point with a 2-2 draw at the London Stadium.
Liverpool, reeling from a 2-0 defeat at Everton in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday, again conceded first when Jarrod Bowen nodded home shortly before halftime, his 20th goal of the season in his 200th game for the Hammers.
The Reds levelled three minutes after the restart through Andy Robertson before the ugliest of own goals, attributed to goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, put them ahead after 65 minutes. But Antonio ensured the hosts took something from the game when he met Bowen’s cross with a powerful header in the 77th minute.
Liverpool remain third on 75 points, one behind second-placed Manchester City, who have played two games fewer, and two behind first-placed Arsenal, who have a game in hand and a much-superior goal difference. West Ham stay eighth on 49 points.

Wayne Rooney told Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk to stop complaining after the centre-back highlighted that the Reds are playing in the 12:30pm slot again today.
Van Dijk brought up Liverpool’s early kick-off following the 2-0 defeat to Everton on Wednesday and Rooney was quick to tell the Dutchman to “get on with it”.
“I think the worrying thing there, and I think it’s happened a lot throughout the season, is that he’s the captain and he’s talking about Liverpool being out-fought,” Rooney said on Sky Sports.
“Again we’re hearing about 12:30 kick-offs, when they’ve just lost a derby. That Liverpool team should be wanting to get on the pitch tomorrow to get the next game going.
“When you lose a game, especially a derby game, you want the next game to come quick.
“We’ve heard it so many times with Liverpool this season about 12:30 kick-offs, get on with it! That’s part of your job. You should be ready to play.”

West Ham boss David Moyes declared he was “embarrassed to be speaking on behalf of the team” after the Hammers’ European ambitions were dealt a significant blow in their 5-2 thrashing at Crystal Palace last weekend.
Moyes, who shot back tersely when asked about his job security, was far more forthcoming when it came to his scathing assessment of the Irons’ performance, saying: “The first half was as bad as I’ve seen us play. We’ve had three or four of these incidents.
“I don’t think the team in the three years I have been here have gone to the depths, in three or four games this year. The first half was unacceptable. We mainly were defending, the way we started the game, we’re not connected in the way we’ve played.
“You can’t play this level of football in the Premier League. We didn’t compete. It was hard to actually explain it.
“I’m so disappointed for the supporters who came here today and in truth I’m embarrassed to sit here and actually be speaking on behalf of the team and the way they performed today but I’m the manager.
“I’ve got to say I’ve not had many teams who have played like that in my whole career.”

Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool could move on from Darwin Nunez this summer after the Uruguayan’s “unforgivable” finishing in the 2-0 defeat to Everton.
The Reds saw their title aspirations damaged by their Merseyside rivals on Wednesday evening, with Nunez unable to capitalise on a glorious chance to level the score in the first half at Goodison Park.
But after Dominic Calvert-Lewin added to Jarrad Branthwaite’s opener to complete a miserable evening for Jurgen Klopp’s side, Carragher was left furious with Liverpool’s No. 9 and questioned his future at Anfield.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk questioned his side’s hunger to win the Premier League and said “everyone has to look in the mirror” a 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park all but ended their title hopes under Jurgen Klopp.
Everton’s physical approach overwhelmed Liverpool as goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin earned the hosts a famous win in the Merseyside derby.
Liverpool are just three points behind leaders Arsenal with four games to go, but Manchester City have two games in hand on Klopp’s side and would go five points above them if they win both.
Van Dijk said Liverpool will have “no chance” of winning the Premier League if they repeat their performance at Goodison Park over their final four games of the season, starting with a trip to West Ham.
