From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Premier League's January transfer window is upon us with Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle all set to be busy.

Arsenal look set to be the busiest club as the deadline rapidly approaches. With no money to spend loans are on the agenda with moves for Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic, Barcelona's Denis Suarez and PSG's Christopher Nkunku being frantically worked on. Chelsea have made the biggest splash with the signing of Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic but could well add more after seeing Gonzalo Higuain arriving from AC Milan on loan. The future of Callum Hudson-Odoi remains in the balance, however.

Manchester United are flying - could Ole Gunnar Solskjaer add to his in-form squad this month? - while Manchester City and Liverpool could look to dip their toes in the water with the title race looking set to go right down to the wire. We will have all the latest news, views, rumours, gossip and done deals right here so don't touch that dial.

Inter Milan admit that it will be "difficult" to keep Ivan Perisic at the club but insist that Arsenal are yet to present them with any kind of offer.

The Croatian has been linked with a loan move to north London before Thursday's transfer deadline and put in a formal request to leave over the weekend.

Perisic was left out of the squad to play Torino on Sunday with chief executive Giuseppe Marotta admitting they have a job on their hands to keep hold of the midfielder.

Eddie Howe says Bournemouth have "had no contact from any other club" as he dismissed rumours of a potential departure for key defender Nathan Ake.

Centre-back Ake, who cost £20million from Chelsea in 2017, has been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge.

"We love working with him, we think he's got outstanding attributes, he's getting better and better in his position," Cherries manager Howe said of Ake.

"The speculation, as it has been all January, has been purely that - as with all our players.

"We've had no contact from any other club so it's business as usual."

More from Howe, who did not rule out strengthening his squad further before Thursday's transfer deadline after the signings of defenders Nathaniel Clyne and Chris Mepham and striker Dominic Solanke.

The Cherries have been linked with a move for out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater, while Howe thinks defender Tyrone Mings could depart on loan.

"We hope the majority of our business is done, if not all of it," said Howe.

"But I learnt a long time ago never to give clear-cut answers in this situation because you can then have to act in the last few hours."

Speaking about a temporary move for Mings, Howe added: "That's a possibility. Tyrone has been dreadfully unlucky since he signed for the football club. He's such a talented lad, he's desperate to play so we'll wait and see."
