The transfer deadline is fast approaching - clubs have to wrap up all their deals by 11pm BST on Friday 1 September, meaning today and tomorrow will be chaotic and potentially exciting with a host of switches still pending.

Among the biggest clubs, Man City could be set to sell Cole Palmer to Chelsea, while the latter could offload Callum Hudson-Odoi after his return from loan. Manchester United, meanwhile, are still looking for at least two more additions, with rivals Liverpool hoping to land another midfielder in Ryan Gravenberch, currently at Bayern Munich.

Brighton look set to sign Ansu Fati on loan from Barcelona, while several other Premier League teams could also conclude deals late on before the window shuts. Follow all the latest news and transfer rumour updates below; get all the latest football betting sites offers here.

Marc Cucurella “should” complete a loan move from Chelsea to Manchester United, according to the Evening Standard.

There remains a “small” gap in the agreement over the fee to be paid, reports Nizaar Kinsella, but the Spaniard is United’s first-choice target to provide cover for the injured Luke Shaw.

Sergio Reguilon and Nicolas Tagliafico had also been considered.

With West Ham pursuing a move for Juventus’ Filip Kostic, the Hammers may well look to offload a winger with Maxel Cornet a target for Everton on a season-long loan according to The Telegraph.

The Ivorian had an injury-affected first season at West Ham after joining from Burnley and has yet to start a game this season. Everton have already signed Beto from Udinese and look now to Cornet as they try to bolster their attacking options.

Since relegation at the end of last season, Southampton have seen a number of key players depart St Mary’s including James Ward-Prowse, Romeo Lavia and Tino Livramento.

The latest to depart could well be centre-back Armel Bella-Kotchap with Sky Germany suggesting an agreement has been reached which would see the German international move back to the Bundesliga to join Borussia Dortmund.

Callum Hudson Odoi still remains on course to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the window with a new club now in pole position for his signature.

The winger endured a difficult spell in Germany last season with Bayer Leverkusen, with a summer deal with Fulham mooted for a while. Marco Silva’s side have since pulled out of a deal after failing to agree a fee and now, according to The Guardian, the 22-year-old could be close to agreeing a deal with Nottingham Forest, a move which would see the player reunite with Steve Cooper whom he played under as part of the England youth team setup.

Aston Villa are closing in on centre-back cover for the injured Tyrone Mings with a loan deal for Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet agreed between both clubs.

Unai Emery’s side were forced into the market, once more, after Mings sustained a serious knee injury on the opening day of the season. Lenglet, who spent last season on loan at Tottenham, will move to the Midlands club on loan for the season with no obligation to buy.

Elsewhere at Villa Park, young striker Keinan Davis looks set to leave the club after a £2m deal was agreed with Serie A club, Udinese.

After Chelsea experienced their worst season since the establishment of the Premier League, American owner Todd Boehly has taken significant measures to bring about change at Stamford Bridge.

This summer, the club has witnessed an astonishing number of departures already, with several key players leaving who played pivotal roles at Stamford Bridge over the past few seasons. Among those having exited are Edouard Mendy, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly, N’Golo Kante, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, and Christian Pulisic.

Spurs are plotting centre-back departures with Japhet Tanganga and Eric Dier potentially set to leave before the deadline.

Tanganga had attracted interest from Torino but now could be closing in on a deal with Augsburg, The Athletic reports. Both a loan and permanent move are being discussed for the 24-year-old who has fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane.

There may also be a departure for long-time Spurs defender Eric Dier who only has one year left on his contract. The Athletic reports that a loan offer from Burnley has been turned down, with the Englishman only likely to leave on a permanent deal, if at all, this window.

Liverpool continue to hunt reinforcements late in the window as they bid to replace various outgoings in key positions.

Jurgen Klopp’s club entered the transfer window with a clear emphasis on bolstering their midfield, particularly considering the confirmed departures of James Milner, Fabio Carvalho, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, as well as the exit of Jordan Henderson.

The club has been proactive in pursuing this objective, and still may not be done yet in the market.

Meanwhile, one of Jurgen Klopp’s stars has been linked with a mega-money transfer to Saudi Arabia, with both Henderson and Fabinho already having moved to the Middle East.
