51 min: GOAL Chelsea (Hazard). The champions are up and running early in the second half thanks to Eden Hazard. Alvaro Morata is the creator, bumping off a couple of weak challenges before scooping a fine ball over the stumbling Simon Francis to Hazard. The Belgian keeps his cool, advancing on goal before firing a low, left-footed finish in at the near post.
56 min: Big chance for Bournemouth to hit back instantly. Junior Stanislas finds Jordon Ibe, who drifts past one man on the edge of the box but fires over via a deflection. Benik Afobe is telling Ibe he ought to have slipped him clear, and he has a point.
63 min: Junior Stanislas, who has been Bournemouth's best attacking player this evening, is forced off early with what looks like a thigh injury. Marc Pugh comes on to take his place. Eden Hazard then has another chance after smart work by Pedro, but his effort is wild and fails to trouble Asmir Begovic.
73 min: Another injury for Eddie Howe to worry about, as Benik Afobe slowly trudges over to the touchline. On comes Callum Wilson, who is still feeling his way back to fitness after that long injury absence. Can he muster anything against the Chelsea backline?
77 min: Double change for Chelsea. Off come Pedro and Alvaro Morata, to be replaced by Michy Batshuayi and – yes, really – Danny Drinkwater. Had completely forgotten about the existence of the latter.
82 min: Cesc Fabregas has a chance to wrap things up for Chelsea, overlapping to get on the end of a cute Eden Hazard pass, but he cannot keep his shot down. Willian is coming on for the last few minutes for the Blues.
88 min: Bournemouth aren't going to go down without a late fight here, but a Chelsea goal on the break looks just as likely as one for the Cherries. Willian is nearly away after a long ball over the top and Asmir Begovic has to be alert to the danger, rushing 40 yards out of his goal to clear up.
FULL-TIME: Bournemouth 0-1 Chelsea. It's all over at Dean Court. Chelsea return to fourth in the Premier League table thanks to a hard-fought victory that will probably not live long in the memory. Eden Hazard got the winner for the Blues, slamming home at the near post just after the interval.
