From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham all recorded emphatic victories on Boxing Day, taking full advantage of Manchester City's second consecutive defeat as Pep Guardiola's side slumped to a 2-1 loss at Leicester City.
City looked to be cruising when Bernardo Silva put them ahead early on, but Marc Albrighton soon equalised and Ricardo Pereira stole the show with his late winner the inflicted back-to-back defeats on City, who also had Fabian Delph sent off late on for a bad challenge.
The defeat was all the more costly given that Liverpool thrashed Newcastle United 4-0 thanks to goals from Dejan Lovren, Mohamed Salah, Xherdan Shaqiri and Fabinho, while Tottenham's 5-0 thrashing of Bournemouth elevates them to second, with Son Heung-min scoring twice along with Christian Eriksen, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane.
United's resurgence under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continued at Old Trafford as a Paul Pogba double, plus an early opener from Nemanja Matic, secured a 3-1 victory over Huddersfield, while Everton recovered from last weekend's mauling by Spurs with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Burnley, with Lucas Digne scoring twice while Yerry Minda scored his first goal for the club. The other 3pm match was the only one not to feature a goal as Crystal Palace were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Cardiff City. Re-live the action below.

GOAL! Tottenham 5-0 Bournemouth (Son, 70)
He's smiling down at Wembley once again and Son just cannot stop scoring!
This time it's Lucas Moura with the assist but Spurs are currently going level with Manchester City in the table.
GOAL! Manchester United 3-0 Huddersfield (Pogba, 78)
Who's the virus at Old Trafford?
Paul Pogba has scored another goal following good play from Jesse Lingard.
It's a fun thing this managing thing, isn't it?
GOAL! Leicester City 2-1 Manchester City (Pereira, 81)
It's a good header out from a corner by Sane and it falls to Ricardo Pereira.
Surely he's not going to shoot. Oh but he is! What a goal.
It's like a bullet straight into the top corner and City are now staring two defeats in a row in the face.
GOAL! Liverpool 4-0 Newcastle (Fabinho, 85)
Great delivery from Mohamed Salah from a corner comes to Fabinho who grabs another goal for the Reds.
They'll all be aware that Manchester City are now losing.
The gap is currently going up to 7 points.
Are Liverpool going to do it?
GOAL! Manchester United 3-1 Huddersfield (Jorgensen, 88)
A consolation goal for Huddersfield unless they can pull off something miraculous?
They can't keep a clean sheet for love nor money.
RED CARD! Leicester City 2-1 Manchester City
It gets worse and worse for City as Delph is shown a red card for a rather nasty tackle.
