Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are all in action from 3pm on a busy day in the Premier League, with Liverpool, Spurs and Manchester United also featuring in a top six-heavy afternoon.

With Liverpool beating Spurs 2-1 in the day’s early game, Arsenal, Chelsea and especially City will hope to make up any ground when they kick-off at 3pm. The Gunners face a difficult trip to Newcastle, having experienced problems at St James’ Park in the past, while Chelsea cost fellow Blues Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge and City face Fulham at the Etihad.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield Town take on Crystal Palace and Bournemouth host Leicester City, while United travel south to Watford in the day’s evening kick-off that is available live here.

Chelsea 0-1 Cardiff

31: Harry Arter clashes with Eden Hazard on the edge of the box and Chelsea have a free kick in a very dangerous area. Marcos Alonso takes and.........over. He gets underneath it and can't quite convert in the way he wants.

Newcastle 0-0 Arsenal

34: Unai Emery's side are on the ropes at the moment and are having to withstand a barrage of Arsenal attacks, Matt Ritchie and DeAndre Yedlin are having a lot of fun in wide areas but Newcastle are yet to create a significant opening.

Manchester City 2-0 Fulham

36: Oh no. Things were going so well for Manchester City, but Sergio Aguero has picked up a slight impact knock.

Chelsea 1-1 Cardiff

Chelsea are right back in this and Eden Hazard is the man making things happen. He collects the ball from deep, dummies past a challenge and drills into the bottom corner.

Bournemouth 2-0 Leicester

Ryan Fraser collects the ball from Callum Wilson and makes no mistake with a finish. Leicester's defending is very, very poor.

Huddersfield 0-1 Crystal Palace

39: Wilfried Zaha picks the ball up around 40 yards from goal, works his way past a couple of challenges, makes his way into the box and unleashes a powerful strike straight into the top corner.

Bournemouth 2-0 Leicester

Bournemouth have a penalty!

Bournemouth 3-0 Leicester

40: Josh King scores from the spot!

It's all happening at the Vitality Stadium this afternoon! A penalty for handball is not contested and Josh King steps up, despite Ryan Fraser being on a hat-trick, and sends Kasper Schmeichel the wrong way. Good penalty and Leicester are starring at defeat.

Chelsea 2-1 Cardiff

Oh Eden Hazard you beauty.

It's a really nice team goal and the man of the moment is there to cap it all off. Pedro's cross is missed by Olivier Giroud, but Hazard collects at the back post and unleashes an effort into the bottom corner via a slight deflection.
