Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are all in action from 3pm on a busy day in the Premier League, with Liverpool, Spurs and Manchester United also featuring in a top six-heavy afternoon.

With Liverpool beating Spurs 2-1 in the day’s early game, Arsenal, Chelsea and especially City will hope to make up any ground when they kick-off at 3pm. The Gunners face a difficult trip to Newcastle, having experienced problems at St James’ Park in the past, while Chelsea cost fellow Blues Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge and City face Fulham at the Etihad.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield Town take on Crystal Palace and Bournemouth host Leicester City, while United travel south to Watford in the day’s evening kick-off that is available live here.

Manchester 3-0 Fulham

It was business as usual at Manchester City as they easily put three past Fulham, who came to play. Leroy Sane scored on his first Premier League start just two minutes into the match, David Silva made it two before half time and Raheem Sterling rounded off the scoring after the break.

Huddersfield 0-1 Crystal Palace

It was a bit of a smash and grab job for Crystal Palace, who return to winning ways after three defeats. Wilfried Zaha scored the only goal of the game on his return to the side after recovering from an injury.

Chelsea 4-1 Cardiff

Chelsea regrouped after an early scare to put four past newly promoted Cardiff City. Sol Bamba gave the visitors an unlikely lead, but then the Eden Hazard show got underway. He rounded off a hat trick from the spot and Willian added a fourth late on to continue Maurizio Sarri's winning start to Premier League.

Bournemouth 4-2 Leicester

You sense that Bournemouth may be a little disappointed to only win by two goals.

Ryan Fraser scored twice and Josh King netted from the spot in a dominant first half for the home side, which was the same story after the break. Wes Morgan's red card for a second yellow made things a little easier and Adam Smith made it four in the 81st minute.

An unlikely show of life from the visitors was on show when James Maddison and Marc Albrighton scored late goals 90 seconds apart.
