Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Following Liverpool’s game with Stoke City, it is the turn of the 3pm kick-offs and what looks set to be one of West Bromwich Albion’s last games in the Premier League for the foreseeable future.

The Baggies will be relegated if they lose to away to Newcastle United but Southampton could make move to within a point of safety if they beat Bournemouth.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace welcome Leicester City to Selhurst Park and Everton travel to Huddersfield Town while Burnley continue their European chase against Brighton and Hove Albion.

GOAL! Southampton 2-1 Bournemouth (Tadic, 54)

Dusan Tadic grabs his and Southampton's second goal of the game at St Mary's as he rounds off a jinking run with a neat, toe-poked finish!

Super strike.

Red card at Selhurst Park!

Marc Albrighton is shown a straight red card for denying Palace a goal-scoring opportunity with a tug on Wilfried Zaha!

Looks a little harsh, on second viewing.

Not a record to be proud of...

Ryan Bertrand has a great chance to extend Southampton's lead after more good Dusan Tadic work but the full-back's driven shot is straight at Asmir Begovic, who makes the save.

GOAL! Huddersfield 0-2 Everton (Gueye, 77)

Leighton Baines' cut-back from Oumar Niasse's cross is swept into the corner from the edge of the area by Idrissa Gueye.

Really lovely finish by a player who isn't known for his goal-scoring ability.
