Good morning and welcome to The Independent's live coverage of today's Premier League action, kicking off with the lunchtime encounter between Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur at the Vitality Stadium.

With Spurs looking to make up for last weekend's 1-1 draw with West Brom, they have the chance to go top of the Premier League table with a victory given that Arsenal play later in the day and Manchester City don't feature until Sunday afternoon.

Speaking of Arsenal, they host Middlesbrough in one of six 3pm kick-offs. Burnley welcome an Everton side looking to end a run of three matches without a win, Hull entertain an improving Stoke City and defending champions Leicester City will hope to transform their 100 per cent European record into their faltering domestic campaign when they face Crystal Palace.

Swansea welcome Watford to the Liberty Stadium, West Ham entertain a winless Sunderland side that sit bottom of the table and we wrap up the day with the evening kick-off at Anfield as Liverpool look to bounce back from their drab 0-0 stalemate against Manchester United last week when they take on West Bromwich Albion.

Junior Stanislas, so influential in the thumping of Hull City last weekend, has pulled out with a calf problem and so Josh King starts in his place. Harry Arter is fit to play despite hobbling off against the Tigers and will take up a place in midfield alongside Arsenal-loanee Jack Wilshere.

Mauricio Pochettino makes four changes to the Tottenham side that drew their last Premier League game at West Bromwich Albion. Eric Dier moves into defence following Toby Alderweireld's injury while Danny Rose is also back in place of Ben Davies. Further forward, Mousa Dembele and Heung-Min Son return with Moussa Sissoko and Vincent Janssen dropping to the bench.

KICK-OFF: Here we go! A one-man Bournemouth kick-off gets the first Premier League game of matchday nine underway at Dean Court. The Cherries have won their last three on home soil and are in fine attacking form, but their plans have been hampered by two late enforced changes and now they face the only team still unbeaten in the league. It's all set to be a cracker.

17 mins: Out of the blue, Tottenham nearly grab the lead! Sublime skill from Dele Alli opens up space in the final third and when Erik Lamela takes over unchallenged, he decides to try his luck from 30 yards. With Artur Boruc rooted to his line, the ball pings off the outside of post and bar and flies into the crowd.

A frustrating minute for Lamela grows more so seconds later when he dives in on Adam Smith and receives the first yellow card of the game from Craig Pawson.

31 mins: Simon Francis looks cool as ice. Which is surprising because the Bournemouth captain has just made an awful mess of Kyle Walker's curling cross into the hosts' penalty box. Under no pressure, the centre-back sliced wildly in front of his own goal, and he too will be thankful to Artur Bpruc that the ball is his goalkeeper's arms and not the back of the net.

It was not, under any circumstances, a neat backpass.
